And then I noticed the jewelry, because the last time I visited I was looking for mystery jewelry jars and today I was happy to see five or six baggies absolutely full of costume jewelry that appeared wearable along with beads and watch parts and just everything I could use for crafting and repurposing with jewelry. So, I purchased two jewelry bags and the contents did not disappoint me when I opened them at home. So, it was another productive and great day shopping at Sozo Trading Co. In addition, there is always plenty of free parking and if you have the time there are a couple of restaurants nearby.

I was given a gift card to this place by a good friend. I had never heard of this store, but my…read morefriend knows me well because when I entered last week, I was so happy to see all the different items made by people all around the world. I was able to talk with the manager (or maybe owner) and she told me they work with 400 cooperatives in 59 countries across the world. The first time I went, I didn't buy anything because there were so many different things and I wanted more time to really look at everything. There were household goods, instruments, shoes, blankets, jewelry, art, and so much more. Prices range from low to high, but all are fairly priced to help promote economic development in the countries that send the goods. The second time I went, I took my husband with me. He settled on a Gourd Shaker made in Peru and I purchased earrings made in Kenya. While we were there, we saw a djembe that we will probably go back and get. I highly suggest you stop by. You'll probably find several things you like! Oh, this place is great for finding unique gifts. I'll be a repeat customer.

Anyway, I was looking for a cool Valentine's Day gift (plain old roses and chocolate covered off-season strawberries just don't cut it for me), so I checked this place out. I found a great gift for my lady, as well as a pair of silver earrings for my mother for Mother's Day so that shopping is done :) ! I will need to remember to come back next time I need to find a unique gift and I don't know what to get.

During last week's severe storm, the power went out while I was checking out with two bottles of paint glazing medium, and everyone had to leave their purchases behind. When I came back to purchase them the next day , the items couldn't be found and there had been the only two bottles left. , Desiree went above and beyond searching the store for them, apologizing, and genuinely trying to help me find them. We knew they had probably been put back in the wrong place. A couple of days later, she personally called me to let me know they had found them and were holding them for me. In a world where good customer service can be very hard to find, the employees at Ollie's on Greensprings truly stands out. Thank you for caring enough to follow through. I'll definitely keep shopping at Ollie's!

A lot of items are actually more than $5 now so keep that in mind. I don't like that there aren't prices on many items so you have to ask a worker for a price check. Don't trust that it's going to be $5 or below because, well, that's just not what's going on here anymore. Some items are $8, some are $10, even $25. There are tshirts, cell phone chargers and covers, beauty products, birthday cards, headphones, speakers, books, Christmas bags and wrapping, exercise stuff, candy, chips, drinks....sooooo much stuff! If you have the time (and patience), go visit the store. Everything is organized well and that I can really appreciate. You are bound to find something (or a lot of somethings) to buy. Pro tip: It's easy to go over budget here. Have an amount in mind or an idea of what you want before you get in the store and firmly stick to it.
