This shop isn't huge, but I have to say it is the best curated selection I have seen in a long…read moretime! Most used record stores these days just have piles of chum to slog through, but this store is a gleaming shining example for every other record store to follow. Todd is very picky about the collections he buys, so there really isn't a clunker in the whole bunch. I really appreciated that, because my time is valuable and who wants to look through a bunch of crap just to get to the good stuff? Well here it's all good stuff! Todd is also very knowledgeable about many genres of music, and he takes the time to source high quality records and look up what each one is worth and price everything accordingly. I loved the "Buy two get one free" sale, of course I am a bargain hunter so I left with nine records plus a bonus record. Super happy with my purchases, I examined each record before I bought it, but it turned out it was not necessary. Todd examines them and does not sell anything that isn't stellar quality. I highly recommend this store, both for buying and selling, as I was told he gives a very fair price when buying Collections, if they are sought after and of high quality. The shop also sells books and I think DVDs and some other things, but I only had time to look through the main section of records. There was also a section of new records, but I didn't look through that section. Todd was great to talk to as well, and pointed me to an AWESOME authentic place to eat just down the block, Main Street Tacos! I am telling all my record friends about this store, and intend to come back to Hayward just to patronize this place again. Rock on, record dude!

They are always willing to help you out in finding an item or making sure that it us the right item to help you. Very well stocked with typical hardware items in garden, electrucal, plumbing, paint, etc. They also have a housewares section. Additionally, I have used their small engine repair services, located in a separate building across the parking lot. Very reasonable and pretty prompt. Lots of parking all around the building. I recommend this store!

In that respect, the Rondeau's Shopping Center was a godsend. Conveniently located between a gas station and the Cable Visitors Center, Rondeau's is really two businesses on one -- there's a True Valley hardware store on the left and a grocery store on the right. We visited both twice during our one-week stay in Cable. Hardware Store (rating: 5/5 for a small-town hardware store). Sure, their inventory is smaller than the big box stores at home, but they had all of the camping equipment and insect repellent that we were looking for and at competitive prices. The two cashiers that we dealt with very helpful (to locate items) and friendly in general. Groceries side (rating: 3/5). We were very pleased to have the Rondeau's in Cable -- to avoid having to drive long distances for groceries -- and they did have most of the items on our grocery list. That said, expect to pay somewhat more than you would in big chain stores. For example, fresh bagels were $4.49 for 4, while fresh corn on the cob was 6/$3.99. (May, 2023). They did have a nice beer selection (including dark stouts) and some bargains on the clearance table. In terms of the grocery staffing, I had a nice conversation with a woman stacking the shelves, but a more disturbing one with a check-out woman. (Without there being a Customer Service Desk, I showed her a receipt that I had been overcharged for an item two days earlier. While she did give me a credit for the overcharge, I got some attitude. "Perhaps the price decreased since you bought it." It's not the $$, but the principle of overcharging for the item, and then not wanting to correct it.

Bob, Janet, and Sarah were also helping my sisters family and guests with picking out an engagement ring for my nephew and his bride to be. We were all there for over an hour and they were so patient, kind, attentive, fun and helpful it turned out to be a very fun outing for everyone. They treated us like family and cleaned many of our own wedding rings in the meantime.
