Of course I have to scour the DVD selection because physical media is all the rage right now! alas, it was mainly outdated or foreign and i walked away with only a few familiar titles. While I was back there i took a look at the electronics and found a brand new crockpot for just $15. i love that you can test out electronics to see if they actually work. i don't usually buy clothes here but this Halloween I was participating in a trunk or treat with a sports theme. At Thrift City I found a Jerry Rice jersey for $10 to wear to go along with our sports theme. the parking lot is normally pretty packed but it is big enough to find a spot without a long wait or needing to park on the street. Thrift City is next to the Burger King and across from the Windfall Donuts so grab you a donut right after you save that money! speaking of saving money, you will always leave here with a coupon! they offer 2 options for coupons after every purchase and they stamp it on the back of your receipt so don't ever throw those away! i happened to make that mistake but luckily when i was in line a lady turned around and offered me one of hers! that was so sweet! i got that down alternative comforter for only $7! a steal!!

The selection alone makes it worth the trip, and you can find great value across so many departments. Customer service is also helpful, which makes the experience even better. I've had some good experiences in the past, but things have gone downhill. First, they don't have…read moremany options these days for auction items. Next, I have bought things from them online, but the wrong item was in the box when I picked it up. Their only response was that I should have came onsite to review the item before purchase. However, nowhere on their website is it stated that there is an opportunity to come onsite to review items. I informed them of this, but they did not care. Recently I also purchased another item, and it had an Apple Air Tag in it. Now I don't know if it was stolen (air tag placed by a victim), or who my be tracking me and know where I live (air tag placed by a potential criminal). I reached out to them with this concern, but did not get a response. Most recently I tried to schedule a pickup, but their were no time slots available. Their site states that you are supposed to schedule your pickup appointment prior to the auction or the day off. But allowing people to schedule pickups prior for items they don't win is what fills up all the appointment slots with people who don't win items. It is a bad practice. I called and asked them if I could schedule an appointment, however their only answer was for me to was their appointment availability online in hopes that an appointment becomes available. This is not acceptable either because they charge you extra to ship items if you don't make an appointment to pick it up. I did check back, and the only availability was an unideal appointment. I had no choice but to grab this appointment ASAP. I checked back an hour later, and a better appointment became available. I tried to take that appointment instead, but they would not allow me to. They said this was because my invoice was tied to my appointment. This is untrue, because my invoice was already paid separately. All then sent out regarding the appointment was an email confirmation. It seems they are unwilling to take simple efforts to help customers, thus they must not care much about customer retention, which you think would help them generate more profit with competitive bidding. Some simple system and process changes could go a long way to improve their business, but there does not seem to be a willingness to improve. There are better auction sites around.

It's one of my favorite places to browse for used books…read more For a small space, it has a great selection of used books, often including the latest books or popular books. They're usually in good quality and for the lowest prices I've ever seen. They also have a good amount of children's books. I remember being able to fill my own classroom library with children's picture books and novels that would cost anywhere from $0.25 to $1.00. I was like omg, these are so cheap! It really gave me the impression that they just want to put books in your hands. Just of how little they charged. Sometimes, they'll have events where you could fill a big bag for just a few bucks. It's very considerate of teachers and avid readers. I believed in them so much, we finally took down our book shelf and donated all of our books, including hardcovers, to them because I knew they would be able to get it into the hands of our community. I think the funds they make keep their bookstore going and help with local events. So bottom line, if you enjoy browsing through used book shops like me, this is a must stop. :)
