It's cheap shopping and I get excited when I find the one thing that I really need for $1.25. I usually buy 3 or 4 items and that's how Dollar Tree makes money, in hopes you buy a lot each visit. Burrell, and I am writing to commend the cashier at your Fort Lauderdale store (Store #4002, 1391 SE 17th Street) for her professionalism during a very challenging customer encounter on October 7, 2025. I witnessed the transaction that occurred immediately before mine. The customer was a Caucasian man in his early 30s, approximately 5'6"-5'7", with a bun styled like dreadlocks, wearing a green jacket, blue pants, and carrying a worn purple backpack. He purchased what appeared to be a package of cinnamon buns. The cashier politely asked him about a shopping basket he had used, as he had mentioned that additional items were in his backpack. The customer immediately responded with profanity, to which the cashier calmly replied that there was no need for profanity as she was simply inquiring about the items. She stated firmly but professionally that she did not appreciate his choice of words. Despite his continued swearing, verbal aggression, and even calling her "racist," the cashier maintained her composure, completed his transaction, and continued to serve with dignity. The customer even threatened to report her, to which she confidently provided her name. As a retired government official from the Department of Veterans Affairs, now age 64, with over 40 years of retail leadership experience as a store manager and general manager, I can say with confidence that this cashier handled the situation in the best and most professional way possible. Cashiers are often the first line of defense in difficult situations, and too often, we only hear negative stories. Stopped in here after lunch the other day and was presently surprised. This is one of the nicest Dollar Trees I've been in. Located off of 17th street Causeway, it's in a large strip shopping center and there's plenty of parking. I've been on a mission lately and in search of. Organizing bins. Dollar Tree has the nicest ones and for $1.25 you can't beat the price. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. The store is clean, organized, and it's stocked. I found the bins and even better, this location has one that's larger than the ones I like. That's a score!!! Cashier was super nice and actually happy to be at work. read more

A quick stop for batteries and this store needs some help. Merchandise was stacked pretty much everywhere waiting to be put on shelves. Some aisles impassable due to the carts and trolleys. Long lines, of course grat prices. This night the "manager" was out, on "Break" . He left a young girl in the store with a line of 15-25 people. Poor girl people were on all sides if her asking questions and checking out. Every time that I go to Dollar Tree I find things for very cheap price that I can get away with buying there instead of other places and save money. That's a plus! However, every dollar tree has things that can improve on like organization and it's hard given that a lot of people go to try to get things cheap and leave a mess. So sometime it could look ghetto. You can find there about everything. I usually go and get things for party or balloons that you can save money getting it $4 instead of $5 like other party stores. Furthermore, you can find snacks and household items like napkins or paper or wipes for just a dollar. You can also find body wash soap and toothpaste and things like that. I especially like when they bring things for different occasions like summer, Christmas, or 4th of July. You can really host a party and not break the bank. I was trying to purchase some things at this location using coupons and making sure I stayed within the guidelines of the coupon policy and the cashier looked at me like she has never seen coupons before. They couldn't get the coupons to scan AT ALL. Like no beeping or anything, to save myself the embarrassment because the line kept growing I paid everything without the coupons. Yes, I understand that everything is only $1 but if my coupon makes the items under $1 or free why shouldn't I be able to lessen the price of my purchase? This store is at least a weekly errand for me, since it saves me a (curse word) ton of money. All the things that I used to buy at Publix or Target in the category of cleaning products, paper products, and miscellaneous overpriced items like batteries-I get them all here. The previous reviewers are correct when they say that this is usually a crowded store. But think about the location first of all-it's along the 17th street causeway. They are trying to hire a bunch more people all the time it seems like. Secondly, I think this is one of the truly GOOD Dollar Tree locations where there are good items worth a dollar and not a bunch of crap that is worth 40-50 cents marked up. Depending on the day of the week I'm in here, I have found Nature's Own bread (not even kind of close to the expiration in case you're wondering) for $1. That same bread in Publix is $3.50 minimum. Even on BOGO that's $1.75. I get all my cleaning stuff here. There are name brand products in smaller sizes, or off label full sizes for $1. Instead of CLR, I got a full bottle of "RLC" which is kick ass. Glad bags, Reynolds Wrap, all that stuff. Saving me a fortune and THEY ACCEPT COUPONS. Some stuff I have gotten for completely free. My favorite thing in here is the wall of Betty Crocker kitchen products (tongs, veggie peelers, cheese graters, etc) which even on Amazon are over $4.50. This store is the BEST place to come as well when you're planning parties-their seasonal and holiday decor is phenomenal as well as their general party stuff, and you never want to spend a lot of money on that stuff anyway. Also, buy the Sunday paper on Saturday here rather than paying Publix 3 bucks! This is the easiest way to stretch your budget. Ok they might not have the best customer service in the world, but the fact everything is a dollar makes up for everything bad.. .EVERYTHING!!!! I think I spent as much time here as i spent at my house during the last 3 months of last year. That quarter I had a class that was very crafty but this store came to my rescue. I was able to find everything i needed to complete my projects, and I am proud to say that I was able to do a window display that looked like a million bucks, mostly using things from the Dollar tree! Overall i come here once a month to stock up on some things for the house, but i love to come here more when there is a holiday because they always have a bunch of cute things for that specific time of the year. read more

Evelyn seemed like she was the only one working. She was working hard and fast to help make the line go down. There was at least 10 people in line and at one point she was the only in cashiering. There was a guy in customer service area just standing there! Most Ross stores would have that person help ring up people especially since there was so many people in line. Just saying. I was out walking in Fort Lauderdale and happen to come across this store. If you can believe it i have never been to the Dollar Tree stores! This store was so nice and clean i could not believe it was the Dollar Store. I picked up a few items that were really nice all for $9.00 and some change. Since i was traveling i couldn't go crazy with the cheese whiz. But, i wanted to... I was really pleased with what i got there, but even more pleased that the store was so clean and organized.The selection here was great,and i am looking forward to my next visit. Apparently they do not give you your $$ back if you need to make a return. but, you can get anything else in trade. A women had come in to do a return.That is what they told her. But, there is lots to choose from including many good food items. Plenty of parking in the lot as well. read more

Okay so I love coming to dollar tree for last minute needs and I have been coming to dollar tree for quite a long time. Dollar Tree never lets me down, HOWEVER, customer service is not the best. I purchased a total of 50 wine glasses here for a Christmas Eve party and of course they are needed to be wrapped before I can store them away for use. Every single time I've purchased large glass items, whether it be just 5 or 20 items, the cashier has always wrapped the items for me (and of course I always help to make the process quicker), however, at this location the cashier had the audacity to just leave all 50 glasses and proceed to help the next customer WHILE my items were still on the belt. I had no problem moving them myself but SHE DIDNT LIFT A FINGER, not even to count the quantity. She just asked how much I had. Long story short, I had to wrap all 50 glasses, with no box given to me and NOT ONLY THAT... when I had finished wrapping the glasses we told the cashier that we actually only had 45, and she immediately caught an attitude and continued to joke about it with the next customer. We only told her so that she wouldn't question why I was going back to get more. WE DID NOT WANT THE MONEY BACK, but she continued to entertain the next customer about the situation.
