The last time I was here was yesterday for their October 2016 sale. I went on the last day of the October sale, and I found that the selection wasn't as good as from their sales about a year ago. First off, there wasn't much selection for women, and a lot of their merchandise are for guys. Last year, I was able to find a $10 warm hoodie, but now, the cheapest one I could find was $40 and I got the last piece with my right size. My fiance was able to purchase many hoodies, and there was a lot in stock - for guys. This time though, I was impressed by the abundance of Timberland shoes, I was able to purchase a couple of men's boots for my fiance with a good price. I checked my receipt and the calculated average of savings I get is 50%. I would recommend still checking this place out, as this is a big warehouse sale, and they have a lot of different types of clothing to shop for. They have hoodies, sweaters, t-shirts, work-out clothes, work pants, winter boots, safety shoes, winter jackets, golf apparels, even beauty products and jewelery! I saw a lululemon bra new with tags, and the sale tag said $34.99 and VV was selling it for $35.... also you can go to the shoe section and see ratty used ritz carlton slippers (that are free with a stay...) are selling for $10 - LOL For a place that receives all of their items FOR FREE, the prices do not make sense at all. Go to an independent thrift store or a smaller chain, and you'll find way better prices. With inflation in Ontario the way it is, people who actually depend on thrift stores to survive simply cannot afford to. When it is cheaper to shop at places like urban planet/shein, fast fashion will always prevail because why would someone choose to buy used clothing for MORE than a new piece (whether it be sustainable or not).. also for these prices, the free donated pieces will not end up selling and as more pieces come in, where do you think those overpriced pieces will go to? So the Big K headed in first while I went to Dollarama nearby to waste some time. How long could buying a hockey stick take? I finally had to enter National Sports to investigate the Big K's disappearance and within record time I was greeted by a very friendly salesperson who not only found The Big K for me, but three perfectly wonderful, very expensive hockey sticks that could significantly improve The Big K's game (and in sum total cost more than my dishwasher.) After much careful consideration, The Big K finally settled on "just one" (thank goodness) from this neatly organized and well-stocked store. I rushed the Big K with stick in hand to the check-out (in an effort to prevent him from buying anything else.) Even the cashier was super-charming and personable and made paying the large bill less painful. Final words: bring lots of cash. This store is conducive to shopping.
