For example: the last lowest price on some of the Target merchandise was priced higher by BWP. I'd come back. I like the concept. Located in a North Liberty strip mall near Mosley's and Pizza Ranch. Convenient parking. BWP also has an online auction platform and you can buy some things at super cheap prices in bulk from their website - like a random case of 20 Funko Pop figurines for $60.00 bucks! It's more, they have an awesome layaway plan for broke individuals like me, 10% down, I think, then a very comfortable payment plan each month. It's now Christmas in July for $1 down and payments until December!!! That's not all, they installed a Wheel of Discounts that you can spin once every visit towards that days purchase! (Limited on certain items for the discount) You don't even have to pick the merchandise out prior to spinning. $150 discount limit per spin. I have purchased a 12 string guitar and brought it back the same day, and they let me trade for another that was less hard to play. I brought it back for another store credit and they didn't get irritated at me at all, cuz I can be irritating. The boss lady just smiled, treated me like family. I now have $240 store credit and kinda gonna let it ride for now. No, they don't pay you interest, on your store credit balance. It's cool that they have board game night (Thursdays) and that you can come play a board game yourself anytime during the day. On the same note-- if you have an old board game you can sell it here. You can now sell your used games in our store. To do this simply follow these few steps. You set the price and once it is sold you get 80% of that price as store credit. Ten Thousand Villages is a fabulous retail spot to support. While the store has over a hundred locations in North America-- they do fair trade right. Every handmade purchase directly impacts the life and community of its maker in a developing country. I hopped on their site one day during quarantine to shop with my mom in mind. The site is so, SO easy to navigate. There's a Gift Finder tab that I found extremely helpful. I opted for the Recycled Sari Flowers. No two flowers are entirely alike due to them recycling fabric. They were made in Bangladesh. (My mom does NOT have a green thumb. I feel like fabric flowers will be welcomed.) On the site, you get to see a blurb about the maker of each item. It makes you feel good to see who you're supporting with your purchase. Shop Ten Thousand Villages for any gift giving you may have. Whether it is during social distancing on their site, or at their store in the ped-mall. It is a literal treasure trove.

I ask the one behind the counter if she could help me with something on a rack close by and she acted like she didn't hear me. When I paid I was never asked: did you find everything you needed. She talked to the other employee as she rang me up then turned and said thank you. I'll never go again.

So you better believe we stock up when we come here! This year, we happened to be in Iowa City during Black Friday and we decided to brave the crowds and go to Costco. To our surprise, it was not as chaotic and crowded as we thought it would be. I'd say it was a typical crowd that you would see on a Sunday, maybe a tad more shoppers. We stocked up on all of our essentials in preparation for the winter season and now our fridge and pantry are well filled. We even snagged a box of 24 cans of Spindrift for $9.99 which is absolutely the best deal we've seen for Spindrift. We also got a huge cut of New York strip steak for $7.99 per lb which will last us for months! All in all, this Costco is well stocked, well organized, and clean. The lines move pretty quickly, especially since they have a self-checkout and regular check out line. Service is efficient and there is a covered parking lot with lots of parking spaces. We are happy with our haul and will be back the next time we're in the city :)

I had some self-restraint and spent about $60.00 at the sto! With that money I got a candle, two vases, a wooden laser cut birthday card and a pack of Christmas cards to last me through this season and the next.
