A pickleball racket for $6 seems like a great deal, the Chuckie plush was $7, and we found very fluffy lounge pants $7 per. Other than these items the store doesn't offer much quality merchandise unless it is much more like $35 for a medium size Nutcracker. Most of the items on isles are $7, the stores name needs to literally be changed to 7 and Below. You have to look hard to find anything priced at $5. The location of this business is a nightmare to leave parking lot during high traffic days. There are only two exits in lot in form of C shape back onto Harbison so the car lines get long and slow to exit lot. Better quality than Dollar Tree but not than Dollar General.

Visited this thrift store for their big annual discount sale. The back half of the store (old…read morewarehouse) reeks of cigarette smoke. It was impossible to determine if the smell was coming from something inside the large room (i.e., furniture, rugs, items, etc.) or if that was just the way it always smelled. They keep the children's toys and items in this part of the store, among many other things. I've had severe asthma my whole life, so even just being in that room was enough to make me start coughing. They have so much of their own decor that it can be confusing when trying to figure out what is actually for sale and what belongs to the store. Additionally, the store does not individually price a large amount of items (which are clearly for sale!) which is very frustrating (some areas have signs w/prices, others do not). Items that have been priced, vary greatly. For example, a very cheap purse might be listed at $20+ while a name brand purse is listed at $8. They have a section of designer/name brand items that is also marked up significantly. It would make sense if their prices were a fraction of what the item cost brand-new, but they're out here charging $35+ for very used leggings! And they weren't even Lululemon! The cashier was disengaged and barely acknowledged shoppers, despite the long line. It takes .10 seconds to make eye contact and greet a person. There are so many better, more reasonably priced stores in the area, so this is a no for me.

What I particularly enjoyed about 2nd & Charles was that they had all of the new titles and bestsellers, as well as a large collection of eclectic and vintage books that you could check out and peruse. They also offered you the opportunity to sell and trade books that you've finished, and had a section of books that were "lightly used" and highly recommended from previous readers. In addition, although I don't play video games myself, they had a nice collection of video games that were brought in from previous users, as well as a humorous assortment of t-shirts and office supplies that are sure to break the monotony of a regular office space. To conclude, 2nd & Charles was such a fun and unique store, which offered a dynamic combination of new and used books, music supplies, video games, and a range of other interesting miscellaneous items. I'm so glad that I stopped in, and while I don't really see myself becoming a "regular", I'll definitely be back in the future, and would recommend that anybody stop in if they're looking for a change of pace and exciting shopping opportunity!

My husband owns his own company, he answers every call, whether on a ladder, etc. They get answered because it's how he makes his living. We were in the store for 2 hours when we ordered them and they still managed to screw it up. Even if they called, which they didn't, I would think it would be responsible for them call again given it is now July 18th and the railings were still sitting in their store. We had to drive from Charleston to Columbia to figure out what was going on. Thankfully family live here so it wasn't a completely wasted trip, but the purpose was to get our railings. All the manager would say was that they left a voicemail (they didn't) and that he was sorry for the trouble. Mind you, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SHIPPED. I called to ask them what they could for our trouble, given the amount of money we spend there and their inability to process the order correctly. After an hour of dealing with another manager all they offered us was 15% = about $25 and continued to argue that they called ( which they didn't) and that it wasn't a wasted trip because we are seeing family. A call shouldn't have been necessary anyways since IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SHIPPED ‍ She was unhelpful and rude and took up an hour of our time by refuted full responsibility. Continued to say "if she knew we were coming" again not acknowledging that IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE SHIPPED. I declined her $25 and said I would take it up with corporate. After calling corporate on hold for almost 30 minutes with no human interaction at all, I hung up. This store is entirely too expensive to have this level of customer service. I will be calling them again to ensure we get our refund, but dealing with this company for almost 3 hours now is unacceptable. We will not be back.
