Needed laundry detergent. Stopped in at our local ocean state. Have to say I really do love walking…read morearound this store and finding all the neat stuff from clothing to household to food. The clothing is great too, many name brands. Love the leggings. The food items are cool to go through, I buy many different beverages here and have fell in love with them, requiring me to research where I could find more when ocean state runs out. Cleaning supplies, hygiene, all great prices. Just a fun store and if you're into gardening, this is your store. I recommend it!!!!

As another Yelper mentioned, this store does indeed have a dingy, sort of feel and look to it…read more We've recently gone here a couple times after receiving circulars in the mail in hopes of finding something listed only to go and be disappointed to find that the size or color of the item isn't available. We even have a $40 gift card we received from one of those "Crazy Deals" promotions (basically you buy a certain item, in our case, a log splitter and they give you cash back in the form of a gift card) and ever since we have not been able to find anything we want to spend it on. Maybe we stop in because it is right next to the Shoprite that we frequent or maybe it's the circulars that keep us coming back hopeful, but other than that, not really sure why we keep coming here. Maybe that will change once the Big Lots in East Haven (near Home Depot and Boston Market) opens.

Given that the aisles were too small for me to comfortably squeeze down, I figured the sparkly and enticing clothing selection would also run too small and didn't put effort into browsing it. Prices are higher than Goodwill but lower than antique stores, so I feel I got an incredible bargain on my pair of metal owls and paid a modest, bargain-ish price for my shell mirror. Staff is nice, store smells delicious -- it's worth finding it hidden down by the train station for the furniture annex and jewelry alone.

Sarah's Cupboard has been a well known thrift shop in the area for quite some time. In walks a…read morerelatively new "assistant manager" and things suddenly change. She has done a good job rearranging the shop and adding a new "vintage" clothing area. In other aspects, the items are grossly overpriced. There is a set of "Coaching Scene" dishes that have been on a shelf for over a year. The price is "599.00. These dishes are often sold in other thrift shops and are not very popular. The clothing is very overpriced. When she finds something that is "new" the price is ridiculously high. There is a jacket which has been hanging over the cash register area for about 6 or 8 months. She googles the prices on the internet and does not realize that the internet has world wide exposure. I could keep going on this one! It is better to sell items than have them take up retail space for a year!
