This is my local stop & shop and so I'm here at least once or twice a week. The thing I find most…read moreannoying is that the high-school kids working the registers have no understanding of common sense or customer service orientation. They simply lack in training! The gossip with each other ALL THE TIME. I'm not that much older but I remember when I worked in retail as a teenager we were trained very well to be professional and courteous to the customers. If we talked among ourselves we would stop if a customer came up to the register. These kids have no problems talking in front of customers about the parties they went to this past weekend or the raves they are going to attend the next weekend or just generally complaining about their coworkers and their jobs. They have no problem with continuing on their conversations with the cashiers at the register next to them even after they take my money and make me stand there and wait for them to finish talking. Train them to be professional and polite! Yesterday I went there again and the teenage boy at the register did not say one word to me - not a "hello", didn't even ask me if I have my Stop & Shop card, did not tell me what my total was, did not wish me a nice day. He clearly did not want to be there and was bothered by the fact he had customers. The layout of the store is a pain. Especially in the produce area. During peak times, it is nearly impossible to get by with a cart. There are always employees there unloading things and they don't try to get around us customers, it's the other way around - they expect the customers to get around them. Check out the Stop & Shop in Fairfield - it is so much better - spacious layout, plenty of room to move around - much more produce and better selections. I often go to the Fairfield one after work as it is much nicer than the North Haven one - however, it being fairfield county - I have to pay a lot more so I try to avoid it. This location doesn't sell pre-packed grilled chicken breasts anymore. I used to buy them all the time to have for lunch salads - they came in two options: lemon herb and balsamic. I wish they would bring these back - now I have to go to Big Y down the road just to get this type of chicken. They do have grilled chicken breasts at the deli counter - I tried it, and 2 out of 3 times they were undercooked. I hope this Stop & Shop location can get it together soon. I go here out of convenience but might as well just start going to Big Y down the road.

Several times I got a text that my groceries had been delivered but they weren't. Or they come hours late either the ice cream turned to soup. The customer service is always nice and will refund my order but that doesn't get me my groceries!

Most of the freezer cases were empty or the lights were out. Food all over the clothing areas as well. Barely any fruit or vegetables, and what was available was moldy or damaged. Only about two registers open, and self checkout completely closed. No one available to help in the store and most employees ignore you. I regret going.
