Oh and two of them are blocked by trucks doing who knows what inside. I saw two truckers complete their fueling and STILL waited for the trucker in front of them to come move their rig. The whole time the speaker advises for those done to move forward. Then there are the cheaters. The ones that know that you can follow the Auto entrance and sneak in to the right of those queuing. Then they act shocked when you get angry they cut in. The bathrooms weren't gross but they were NOT CLEAN. And finally, the "dog area" is carpeted and DISGUSTING. Poo everywhere. Technically, it's not in Marfa at all but rather in Valentine, Texas about an hour from Marfa. Artists Ingar Dragset and Michael Elmgreen created it in 2005 and the items inside the store are from the 2005 Prada collection. It's meant to be a stab at art and the all-consuming need to spend. You cannot enter the building. This landmark is considered a museum. Fencing around the museum contains locks left by visitors. This iconic installation is a must-see. Literal roadside attraction in the middle of the desert.

Prada Marfa is one of those stops that's way more impactful in person than it looks online. The best part is how the landscape becomes part of the art wide sky, long light, silence, and that perfectly framed window display. Come around golden hour if you can. Tips: there's no shade and it gets windy; be careful crossing/parking by the highway; and if you're expecting a museum experience, reset your expectations it's more of a "pause and think" moment than an attraction. I found a gorgeous amethyst crystal, rose quartz and pyrite to take home as gifts. The owner is the sweetest woman you will ever meet and gave me a small quartz crystal to keep in my pocket for good luck. She also sells balloons and custom gift baskets. This place is cash only so come ready with cash to spend because you will find something you will want to take home for yourself or a loved one.
