Somehow, I always feel like the women's clothes section is a little lacking compared to some other locations so maybe when they stock just isn't to my taste. But, they have a good produce selection with the best grapes as well as meats and specialty foods. The frederik's brand chips and trail mixes don't disappoint. I also find more trail mix and specialty items at this location versus others. It's self checkout so my customer service experience is low but everyone has always been pleasant.

I used to shop here for the bulk of my grocery needs. That stopped for several reasons…read more.. I bought a new car, and the temporary plate was stolen while the car was parked in their parking lot. I don't consider this the store's fault, but it certainly reflects the type of people that do shop in this store. Thankfully, the "Einstein" that stole the tag decided to use it on his own vehicle and was arrested. Not sure whatever happened to him, but I had to cough up the money to buy a new tag. About 6 months after that, someone hit the car while I was in the store shopping. No note, nothing. I decided to try to get a copy of the security footage hoping there would be a plate number of the car that hit me. The store security would not release that to me but did say they would only release the footage to TPD. They wouldn't even speak to me (I had to go through the customer service gal at the customer service counter). The store manager wouldn't even speak to me. My car just got hit in your parking lot and management could give a damn. I didn't expect the store to offer any type of payment, but a little compassion for your customer that suffered a loss while patronizing your store would have gone a long way. So, I file a police report. The police wouldn't even try to get the security tape - too busy for such small infractions. I have an almost brand-new car (at this point, 6 months old) with a huge dent in the passenger side rear that's going to cost me my $500 deductible to fix. The total bill was something north of $2,500.00. Take a good look in their dairy case. It's FILTHY. The meats almost always have an expiration date no more than 2 days away. There are always expired foods on the shelves. The prices marked on the shelves never match the actual price when the item is rung up at the register. The place is just awful. Between the filth in the store, the A-hole customers and A-hole management, and all of the expired crap on the shelves, you have to be really careful when shopping here. I would suggest going to the store on Central. Much nicer.

However, I find it to be very clean and easy to navigate. If I have questions, there's usually an associate nearby to ask and show you to the aisle and location. I understand that some people have problems with the Digital Coupons, but they are easy to navigate once you learn the process. I do appreciate however that Kroger has listened to the feedback and applaud the store for resuming paper coupons for those who prefer them. I find the produce at this store far superior to anyplace else locally. It may not be the least expensive, but it will be the best available. In all, I highly recommend this Kroger location for its cleanliness, fresh produce, and helpful associates. Plus, you can find pretty much anything you need at this store. I personally love it here and definitely recommend! You might pay a bit more for quality, but the Digital Coupons or paper coupons definitely help with the bottom line.

I have kept up the tradition of stopping in occasionally and always buying any meat I wanted. My family is a big fan of Steve's homemade pastrami. It's the end of an era that has spanned four generations of my family. Paul and Steve always went the extra mile. Several times they drove my mother and her groceries home, even though it meant getting a milk crate so she could safely get into and out of the truck. On one occasion he lifted her out of the truck. I'm sure it was no problem because she was small and weighed less than a side of beef. That was a favorite story that she would tell and retell to anyone who would listen. They have some weird stuff here. Erie, Michigan is not exactly a booming metropolis or Haven for culturally diverse food, but tucked away unassuming off the highway is a hidden gem known aw Erie IGA. I was able to find some eastern European Staples and oddities. Think big lots meets a flea market for groceries and booze. They do have fresh produce and fresh meats, (and typically even fresh pizza) but a lot of what they have is odd overstocked nearly expired items. Not to complain, because expiration dates are just dates that say best used by... They aren't truly expired. And as a bargain hunter, I love paying half the amount for food that is still perfectly fine. Let's talk booze, beer, and wine. This place is staffed Floor to ceiling in one section full of bargain and bizarre. alcohol options. If you have never been here, you have to go in to understand what I am talking about. When I throw parties, this is my stop for a way to cheaply pump my guess full of drunken delight. They also have some houseware stuff sprinkled in between the nearly expired freezer food, and the Eastern European soup options. My husband and I spent over an hour just looking at everything. We went in to pick up some cabbage on our way home from an event a few years back and left with $100 worth of food and alcohol that looks more like $300 worth. I'm not sure if the owner is Russian or Ukrainian, but he was cool is hell. I picked up the best frozen spinach pies I have ever had. They had blitzes and my favorite kosher split pea soup in the freezer. We try to go back every three months or so even though it's completely out of our way just so we can see what cool finds they have procured. The days of small grocery stores are numbered, but every time I see one I go in. And usually, I keep going back. Maybe it's the nostalgia, maybe it's the 1950s housewife in me, but I love a good small town grocery store.

The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.
