This store is very unorganized. I was trying to look for a Starbucks Frappuccino and the section…read moreon​ the shelves was blocked due to the fact that the store had just gotten truck in, apparently. On top of that, it looks dirty. Also, it needs more painting. Right now, the store looks to be pretty white and bland. It needs something more creative since it is out in the Morningside area of Sioux City, therefore, I think that it has a reputation​ to keep. Lastly, the other issue that I had was that I basically had to grab a clerk to ring me out because the person was too distracted talking to a customer. Now, this was not in the helping a customer find something, but more so the fact that they were just making casual talk. I was on the clock and had places to be, so I basically had to let the clerk known, and then they got around to helping me out. She was pretty nice and all, but again, it would be nice if someone could just be at the register so that when I am ready to check out, I can just do that without having to go out of my way to find someone.

Outside could use some clean-up. Has a RedBox. Employee was very nice. As was the woman who let me go in line in front of her. Huge parking lot. Nice to have a store in this area. I only went to the snack/drink section today. I'll use the store again if I'm in the neighborhood and need something, but I have no reason to drive out here for the store. Pokestop right next door!

In the morning today 8 hours ago I decided to call Dollar General on Myrtle St. I called them…read moreasking if they would be able to break a $100 because some places do not accept bills $50 & up the lady over the phone told me yes that she could break my $100. So I decided to go walk down to Dollar General on Myrtle St. I had my usual stuff on when I go walking around to buy stuff.. so I put my grey NRA book bag on. I put 2 reusable plastic sacks into my NRA book bag then I put my bag over my shoulders & proceeded to walk to my destination on foot. I made it to the store & started looking around the store to get my things I wanted to buy there. Walked to the back & put garbage bag box into my cart & saw the movies & I started looking at them one by one I had a traveling airplane neck wallet over my neck fearing that if I put my $100 in my pocket it might get lost or I might get robbed so I put my $100 into my airplane traveling wallet & put the wallet strap under my shirt (not thinking much about it I just wasn't trying to get robbed while I was walking to the store) While I was looking threw the movies 2 older Dollar General employees from the cash register area. Followed me to the back & then cornered me... both lady's started accusing me of stealing from their store (WHITCH I FUCKEN WASN'T) they both made me lift up my shirt exposing my airplane traveling wallet strap over. They also emptied my grey NRA book bag & made me empty both of my pockets!!

I frequent this Dollar General mainly because I live a block away. It's very convenient for me to…read morejust walk over and grab something I need right away. (Such as today I ran out of deodorant and that was all I needed. By of course I left with around $16 worth of stuff.) The aisles are very close together, but I've noticed that about every DG I've been to. They try to pack everything in. This location keeps their shelves pretty well stocked and organized. The clearance bins are always a mess and there isn't always a price sticker on the items, but that's the fun of clearance, right? The 'find.' There is one area that is always an awful mess. Sadly it's right by the register. It's always just stuff piled there and looks like the inside of a hoarder's closet. It blocks some clearance stuff and their line of Husker items. Very few 'fresh' groceries here. I never buy anything that isn't a dry good/non-perishable. It just doesn't seem very...well, fresh. No produce at all. Parking lot on one side and street parking on the other. Lot is usually clean. No public bathroom available. Staff is always nice. I'm usually greeted and helped when I need it. Friendly people. I have experienced their registers shutting down more than once. And if the place is busy the employees seem frazzled, but it's rarely busy.

Employees always think that someone is going to steal their merchandise to the point it's straight up laughable to me. This Dollar Tree has long thinned polls attached to every cart preventing consumers from taking the carts outside. The most paranoid dollar tree I've been to. I don't recommend shopping here either. The place is a wreak.

This one appeared to be a pretty lucrative place for people to do their weekend shopping when I visited since it was pretty packed. While I'm used to the setups at the New Orleans stores, I feel like this one was more in disarray then I'm used to for these establishments. That being said, I did find what I needed to find fairly quickly. The aisles were also not equipped with the square footage to allow for such serious shopping though that wasn't stopping grandma from creating a road block while perusing dollar delights. Checkout was one lady who seemed to know everyone in line, but still fairly quick while chatting up the customers. Parking was easy enough since this is in a little strip mall. We pulled off I-29 with a wink and a prayer, hoping we could find a grocery store... as luck would have it, we found our way here. This smallish grocery store (by our spoiled SoCal standards) reminded me of grocery stores when I was a little kid: no big fancy displays, no gimmicks, no 10¢ a grocery bag... just a clean well-stocked grocery with nice folks running the joint. There is a low glass case at the meat department and--get this-- butchers working back there! Fresh produce and cold drinks, soft bread, and enough sugary junk for the kids... a couple of bags of ice and we were back on our way: mom making sandwiches on the truck center console, and kids rattling chips bags in the back seat. Can't imagine when we'll find our ways back here, but glad my brain has files away a memory here of a nice little grocery store. Is this heaven? ... it's Fareway.

There is a small frozen bin at the front where you can buy individual Blue Bunny ice cream treats in case you didn't want to pick up an entire box. Produce was reasonable, there's a small Mexican section, and there is a decent selection of HBA's (shampoo, etc.). There's no Target in town so that's important. Somewhat lacking in dairy selections (pretty much you get Blue Bunny and the generic) but this is a Blue Bunny town (though the milk plant's been sold to another brand.) The frozen food vegetarian selection was kind of lacking, but this is Iowa, and Fareway will order things for you if you ask and if their distributor carries it.
