Here Today. There Tomorrow!…read more Before today I knew nothing of a Meijer's, what's a Meijer's? Well Meijer's is another Walmart, they run neck to neck. Now, of course I just had to investigate for myself and for the people to decide. What I discovered: 1. Meijer's floral department is waaaay fresher! You can smell their fragrance throughout the store which will put you in the mood for a little 1 stop shopping. 2. They offered sale items, which if you don't usually use Gain laundry detergent "On Sale" will change your mind. 3. The prices on clothes was a shock and looked less of quality than Walmart. Walmart is really starting to suck but if you follow Business News it's explainable. 4. Meijer's had a person posted up at the entrance door to help guide you to the correct department if you're just running in and quickly out. 5. More staff visible to assist. Those are just a few differences I noticed if you have reasons why refuse not to shop at Walmart. As I keep saying, WE like options and DON'T have to put up with sucky service! Although the situation presented a major inconvenience, they not only refunded the money, but also gave a 2x credit for the cost of the goods. Any company that makes a gesture like this is probably decent in my book. I still wouldn't make Aldi my first stop for grocery shopping. At least they are willing to admit when they're in the wrong and did due diligence to make things right with the customer.

The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats... Sausages, brats, jerky, etc., DSG has it all. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful... Some of the friendliest people we've met in a while. When we're in the Cadillac area again, we will no doubt make a point to get back to DGS to stock up... Two thumbs up.
