All of the meat that I saw was frozen and prepackaged. More appropriately, the discount grocery label on their signage is more appropriate! Even that's a bit of deception. I viewed their groceries prices somewhat on the up side. As I stated, this is a very inviting place! Don't get let down by the inventory! Can't judge a book by its cover!

Be warned, they barely have anything priced. That being said, I found a few I wanted. Took them to the counter. I asked for the prices on the books I had on the counter. He proceeds to "look them up" on a monitor. Proceeds to give me a very high price. I counter offer $10 less. They wouldn't take it. I turned it down. Then the young man took the book and said, that belongs on the wall. So, I worked for them in finding that wall book. I dug thru a dozen long boxes, found a nice book, made them a reasonable counter offer and then they put it on the wall to try to make $10 more. If I wanted to pay Ebay prices, I would buy from there. I did the work they were supposed to be doing instead of sitting around talking and joking. I won't be back.

I can't say it was particularly clean. The bathroom was kind of icky. No one had cleaned up towels off the floor, toilet paper wadded up on the floor next to the toilet, etc. Granted, we were there at 5 pm, so there had probably been a Saturday rush tearing the place up, but employees should do a better job of tidying up. Maybe there aren't enough on a shift, idk. The inventory was definitely picked over and it honestly looked like somebody just dumped a bucket of junk out across some of the shelves. We walked out empty-handed. I didn't even look at the clothes because they were grouped by color and type, not size. Who wants to look at a whole rack of black shirts to try to find their size? It's not that hard to organize by size, really. It's not worth making it a day trip, despite what that influencer said. Maybe it was just a bad day, but I'll leave it to the locals from now on.

What stood out the most was that unlike a shop we visited yesterday (I won't name it, but it's in Hickory), my son wasn't followed around by the owner/staff like he was up to no good (my son is 2 months shy of 7 at the time of this, and he kept his hands in his pockets most of the time, so I'm not sure why that person felt the need to make me uncomfortable by following my kid and getting wide-eyed every time he pointed to something or touched anything). We felt very welcome at Got Books, and I look forward to going back! Also, the coffee is great!

I can't stress enough the low prices and high quality selection. Customer Service is above and beyond expected! Also there is a loyalty rewards card offered to anyone who signs up,no credit check required. You earn points for the stuff you are buying that convert into reward coupons that can be used on your next visit. The store also offers with this card a 15% discount every Monday for shoppers age 50 and older and 15% every Friday to those 49 yrs old or younger. I highly recommend checking the store out if you haven't already done so.
