They keep their prices down and have a Senior Tuesday when you can buy WEIS brand products for 10% off! They are generous when you have a return for any reason and don't make you feel like you're trying to "get away with something"! Their PRICES beat most places in most things. (I keep a record of prices as does our daughter.) The gas points are generous and very easy to work with--no gimmicks! The store on the whole is very FRIENDLY y and the employees seem very ready to HELP YOU with any questions you have. When King's IGA became WEIS--I felt like I was going home again!! We even have a few pieces of china that Weis in Whitehall gave away with grocery receipts in the 70's & 80's!

This past weekend, we decided to go to Walmart for our grocery trip and we were so glad we did. Maybe it's because I'm from Philadelphia, but I found the prices to be extremely affordable and was genuinely shocked by the quality for the cost. The produce section was great, things were very fresh and bountiful. The staff was helpful, when asked. The store in was well organized, with plenty of check-out options and an easy to use self check-out.

Either way, I wanted to visit this grocery store and it was a good stop. It seems like a high-quality store, but the prices weren't unreasonable. In part I wanted to stop just to check it out but when I learned that Pennsylvania is the snack food capital of the country, that sealed the deal. They have an extensive bakery with lots of stuff, including some that I don't tend to see at a grocery store bakery, like the macarons that I picked up here. They also sell fudge, another unlikely grocery find. It's a grocery store, so of course they have what you're expecting to find, but their chip aisle did seem extensive. Or maybe that it's just that I've never seen flavors like honey jalapeño and others before. The staff was friendly and efficient. Shopping was pleasant. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to grocery store.

I went to Giant in Walnutport to buy a roasted chicken for $5.99. I realized I had to buy $25 to…read moreget the chicken on sale, so I bought $18 more in food, including the Shrimp (see Photos, which brought my order to $37 instead of $25. So I went to the desk to ask what happened.) What's maddening is that the instore and circular ads are very misleading for the shrimp. You aren't told you need to buy 2 lbs on the little flyer coupon OR the large sign on the freezer above the shrimp. And the weight isn't exactly noticeble on the sign either. Someone in the store said, "It happens all the time and they won't change it" (i.e., the policy when people have complained.) It's like they're trying to trap people into buying more because many people will just shrug and walk away. But not only are they not respecting shoppers' time, they don't realize there are a lot of folks out there having to making every dollar count. It's a terrible time to be trying to trick people into buying things they may not be able to afford. I personally don't have that problem, but I know there are many who do.

The seafood department is a favorite of ours, but let's not forget about others at this fine store. Fresh produce is always just as they claim--fresh! The selection is broad. The meat and deli departments are noteworthy--varied cuts of beef, poultry selection galore, sliced cheeses/meats, and unique salads. Note that homemade shrimp salad is at the seafood counter.
