When is comes to grocery shopping I don't usually come to Martin's, but I do come by on occasion to…read moretheir deli.  I have been fond of the muffins near the deli that are technically one of their bakery items.  I also love their panini sandwiches, corndogs, and their honey mustard they have available for dipping.  Their salad bar has been updated and I would recommend checking it out but keep in mind it is pay by weight.  Their sushi is freshly made and you can watch the employee make it.  I am not a big raw fish person so I usually will grab one that is vegetarian if I get any at all.  They do have a Starbucks inside which is an added bonus.  In their bakery area I have always enjoyed their muffins, specifically the poppy seed muffin and the blueberry muffins.  Overall I have been enjoying Martin's for years and would recommend coming in specifically for their deli.

I was already in the area so stopping by for a bathroom break and quick snack from Martin's in Stevensville was convenient. Inside they have a Caribou Coffee to get drinks while shopping. They also have their famous SideDoor cafe, which provides hot food like rotisserie chickens, macaroni & cheese, fries, fried chicken and the beloved hoosier fries. Some cold options are also available but for me the draw has always been the panini sandwiches. Delicious bakery items are also available on top of the standard grocery store items. Bathrooms are clean, staff is friendly, and lots of choice options. Biggest down side is how far this location is from me, but the second downside is you do tend to pay a touch more than other spots closer to me. I'll come back, but maybe not for a bit.

Both my husband and I love their french bread pizzas as my husband has been eating them since he was a kid. We will most likely be making this Aldi our regular grocery shopping place or at least until the location in Stevensville opens. The biggest con of Aldis is still that they tend to only have one cashier at any given time. That can allow for long lines but for me it is worth it. Don't forget your quarter for a cart and reusable bags for your groceries.

The checkout cashier referred to me as "young lady ". apparently she is unaware of how offensive the reference is. Using that phrase is ageist and what gerontologists call "elderspeak" which is full of condescension and very patronizing. This hasn't happened frequently so when it does, I usually just smile and move on. She called me that twice, apparently thinking she is on top of things. We came in to grab a few Memorial Day last minute items, including hot dogs and hot dog buns. Typical for an Aldi shopping trip, it cost less than the other places we shop and my husband said what he always says: we need to come here more. Everything is organized, the check outs were being run smoothly and quickly thanks to the addition of some self checkouts. Carts require a quarter and bags cost money, like all Aldi stores.
