Such a cute little store with some great finds! I like how they have everything laid out separately…read morein different areas. All the clothing is separated into different racks by categories, i.e jackets, sweaters, blouses, etc. They also have a great accessory selection for bags, shoes, and jewelry and in the back there is a whole wall for children's clothes and toys. Everything is reasonably priced for a thrift store. I didn't spend more than $6 on a single item. The location is very convenient as well. Right on Potomac ave in Dormont and there is meter parking right out front of the store. The ladies that work there are very nice as well. They told us how they are volunteers and have been working there for years. This is a non-profit store and everything they don't sell within 60 days goes to homeless shelters and a lot of their profits go towards helping the animal shelters as well. The store has been around for 50+ years, which is amazing. The ladies said it originally started out as a trade store for items people didn't want anymore, hence the name. Very cool history and a great place to find a good deal! Will be back!

Banksville Plaza is a small strip mall. Current businesses include Kuhn's grocery store, Supercuts,…read moreStarbucks, Subway, PNC Bank, H&R Block, T-Mobile, a nail salon, and a couple of other small businesses. The only businesses that I consider visiting are the PNC for the ATM if necessary and the Kuhn's for snacks if necessary. Otherwise, I drive to other retail centers for easier access to and a greater selection of products and services. As other reviewers have already commented, the parking lot is small, and it can be challenging to pull in and out of spaces. Furthermore, this mall is right next to Banksville Road, which often has very busy traffic. I have not experienced major problems with other vehicles, but I can understand how other customers do.

Cars fly by to get an empty parking space, not stopping if you're backing out of your space. And God forbid if you're trying to get to a store and someone is trying to get to an open space, they'll run you down! Why? Kuhn's, old people love to shop at Kuhn's. You know the type, if it's an old man driving, all you see is the hat, and if it's an old lady all you see is her hands at the ten and two position on the steering wheel. And God love them, they only know one speed, EMPTY SPOT NEAR KUHN'S!!! GUN IT MARTHA! Seriously, the parking lot is bad, but not a bad strip mall. Starbucks, Namaste, PNC Bank, Subway, Whiskey Hollow Grill, Kohli's Indian Market, Super Cuts, Radio Shack and H&R Block are also located here.

At checkout a customer behind me rolled his eyes, shook his head at the person behind him and then said loudly how considerate he was. Implying that I was not, I guess becusse I forgot to buy my bags and it took 10 extra seconds for her to ring me up. Apparently this neighborhood is full of angry, aggressive people. I didn't feel safe. I'll go to Mckees Rocks Aldi and feel safer. Skip this trip.

I'm a regular shopper at Aldi. They may not have the enormous selection of the local Market…read moreDistrict shops, but man are they good at feeding someone on a budget. I've been able to cut my grocery bills almost in half by primarily shopping here. Some of their products are sold pretty consistently (i.e. some cuts of meat, apples, cheese, etc.) while others are rotated out as availability allows (an example: I tend to stock up on frozen vegetables that I like because I might not see them on a return trip). There are also some basic home goods available for sale here, which is helpful if I realize I also need paper towels or something like that. Unfortunately I sometimes forget to bring a quarter, which is entirely on me - and really, the system they implemented where you rent a cart with a quarter and get said quarter back after your trip is fantastic. It cuts down on operation costs (therefore on product costs) AND means I really don't need to worry about abandoned carts rolling into my car. As mentioned in another review, bringing bags is key; Aldi sells some if you absolutely cannot find any, but it's much easier having reusable bags anyway. Be prepared to roll your cart out of the way and to bag your groceries as well; again, I love this system, because of the cost cutting AND because I can bag my groceries as I see fit. Let's be honest: we've all come across a cashier who has no problem putting a loaf of bread at the bottom of a bag at some point. I highly recommend shopping at Aldi at least once; once you have an idea of what is available, you can work them into your routine if you want to, as well as supplement your shopping elsewhere as needed.
