Super cute bookstore in the heart of Dormont. I first learned about this store when I decided to make a Bookstagram (literary.listener). They sell books via their physical store but also post stacks of books and you can claim them. The owner is very sweet and even works with you if it takes awhile for you to get to the store. Honestly, I love this. It helps to show the stock and then I go in already knowing what I need/want. Also in the area you can get a nice little bubble tea so you can have something to sip on while you peruse the bookshelves. They do have events also in the space. This is the best, coziest bookstore in the Pittsburgh area! A visit to Dormont is incomplete without a stop at this lovely shop. Owner Jamie is the sweetest, I could talk about books with her all day! With a vast selection of mostly used and some newer popular fiction (all at an amazing discounted price), there is surely something for everyone! There are so many unique finds here. She puts so much work into buying books for the store. She has even acquired rare first editions of Sarah J. Maas books, and I was lucky enough to snag one of them! I LOVE this bookstore. If you're looking for a cute, intimate bookstore this is for you. I got 3 popular books (2 soft 1 hardback) for $25... Insanity. They take cash, check or Venmo so come prepared. It was super fun to walk around and discover your options. There are a lot of new title options as well as classics. I know there's something to be said for the bookstore that's overflowing with books everywhere, but how about a organized and clean space with a great selection of used books that are easy to locate? That's what this place has to offer and more! Not only do they carry current authors, but they have a smaller selection of vintage books, local authors and an amazing children's book selection and area. The owner is incredible friendly and so happy to help you find what you're looking for. I love the passion that goes behind these spots because you can tell they're invested in making their space inviting and warm. Love this little bookstore. It's like one out of a movie. Tiny but with most of what you could want, they've had everything I went in looking for. They have an adorable little children's corner that makes me wish I was young enough to enjoy. The lady that owns it is not only adorable, but is so helpful, friendly and welcoming. The prices are also something you cannot argue. Not only lower prices on books than I've seen on amazon, but she sells new books way cheaper than most chain places like Barnes and nobles. Why buy it for more, from a faceless company than from this lovely local shop. My library at home is going to need to grow a little after stumbling across this hidden gem. read more

I love this store!!!! The selection and the prices are amazing!! You can buy almost anything here that you might find at Barnes and noble but you will not only pay more, but you won't get the customized care, time spent, and just overall cozy bookstore experience. The owner is so nice and personable. She makes a point to find out what kind of books you like and you can tell she really cares. She gave me some excellent recommendations and I suggested a few to her as well. I can't wait to go back to talk with her again and see what she has in new. This independent used bookstore is a complete gem. The young lady who runs it knows EXACTLY where everything is and was able to find me, in 5 seconds, a book I hadn't found at about 5 other libraries and used bookstores. She knew what she happened to have in stock by memory. The place is meticulously organized with alphabetically arranged boxes for each fiction author along the walls. There are separate sections for children's books, recent/popular novels, classic lit, first editions, history, war, etc. Impressive true crime selection. Definitely will be coming back next time I'm in Pittsburgh! read more

Shortly after my wife and I moved to Dormont in May of 2010 I wandered into "Beyond Bedtime Books" for the first time. I've been a regular customer for almost seven years. The selection is good, it is always clean and sharp. Finding something interesting is easy, and if you have a question the service is outstanding. This is an independent and fabulous place!! I have been meaning to go back for a year and stopped in this week. She had some of my favorite books in stock which made me so happy as I know someone will grab them up. The best thing tho, I have started a new series and I was able to buy 4 books in the series that I would normally have paid full price for. They are in excellent condition and half the price.
