What a difference between same brand pharmacies! The pharmacy at the Hy-Vee in Florence is…read moreexcellent. The one on 90th and Center doesn't even come close. For one thing, every employee was masked. At the one on 90th and Center, the only two people wearing masks appeared to be taking patients to a little room for probable immunizations. At least four others were were working in the pharmacy and interacting with patients without masks. The Florence pharmacy had plexiglass barriers up to limit air/droplet contamination. So this is two ways to protect patients and employees. You would think the pharmacy at 90th and Center would at least have plexiglass barriers, but they did not. The person speaking to me actually leaned towards me to make a point. It seems like patient welfare is not high on the priority list here. Additionally, when I called there for clarification about my meds, either no one answered or the recorded message said someone would get back to me but no one did. That's why I had to go there in person to straighten out a problem they had made with my medications. At the Florence location, an elderly gentleman who is apparently 94 years old, is known by his name when he comes in. Now that is customer service and exemplifies the great attitude at the Hy-Vee Pharmacy in Florence.

The 'grocery' section of the store has your basic selections (though more 'store' brand items than usual) and while not a full fledged grocery store, they cover all the basics. They do however carry a good selection of wine and in my opinion, especially for Florence, a great selection of beer. The staff is very friendly. It would be great if it was a full fledged super market, as it is much cleaner and nicer than the other offerings nearby.

My big complaint is that they are really not great at keeping things in stock, especially sale/coupon items. Nine times out of ten, the sale/coupon item shelves will be empty if you don't get there first thing in the morning. We often end up going to the Madison Ave. location to shop because they do a fantastic job of keeping everything stocked. If they could do a better job with stocking at the Broadway location, I would certainly give them five stars.

In order to shop (other than the first aisle) they have made four long rows and now you cannot easily shop between aisles. You have to go all the way to the end to get to the next aisle. That is so ridiculously inconvenient. I did complain to a manager, and I told them that I will not be back unless they do something about that layout. They told me they hate it too! I was warmly greeted at the door by a gentleman who explained it was hard for local farmers to produce certified organic foods, but that is what they are trying to bring to this area of Omaha. You can easily pass it up on Radial Hwy, since the sign s pretty small, but it is on the SE corner of 48th and Radial Hwy. Parking out front is dangerous along the Hwy, but I did see a lot in the back which I presume you can park. I hope they do well in this location.
