***This review is for restroom use only***…read more I had to stop for a restroom break and found myself at a Walmart in Fort Stockton, TX. Unfortunately, restrooms were not the cleanest and toilet paper was scarce. I had to use the toilet seat covers as my toilet paper (I'm sure I'm not the only who has done this... it's probably pretty common)... anyway, just not the best restroom experience here LOL. Please attend to your restrooms regularly. Thank you!

If you have a prescription that is not covered by your insurance, always bring it to H-E-B! GoodRX has much better savings at H-E-B than anywhere else. My RX with GoodRX was $700 at Walgreens yet it was only $30 here. And that's for a month supply! That's a major difference on my budget for a RX that I can't live without! And if you know that a RX is coming, let them know you anticipate your doctor prescribing it and they will make sure it is in stock so you never run out! Now I am never out of my hard to find RX. And they have shorter pharmacy lines with much more polite staff members! So much better than Walgreens or CVS!

Of course pretty much everything in Pecos Texas is overcrowded, run-down and expensive for what they really are. Except for Walmart! You get your standard Walmart prices but you do not have an automotive department, no 24 hours and even longer lines, but you do get to dodge Isles full of inventory that need to be broken down and items put on the shelves. Also, don't let me get started on the 20 plus people deep line because like overcrowded Pecos Texas everybody is trying to pack 10 pounds of crap in a 5lb bag, Walmart is no exception. This is one place that definitely needed to be a super Walmart. I'm going to hate to give this advice to you but the Family Dollar and general dollar down the road put this Walmart to shame. Now that you might have taken this advice, please do me a favor and do not go into these dollar stores until I am done finished and left this piece of a something town. I don't want my favorite places to get overcrowded. Oh, and before I go one more important thing, the parking lot! You think you're from Houston and driving /parking cannot get any worse than those Asians in Bellaire? Yes those people, but these people put the people that Park in Walmart to shame, actually make them look like professionals or something because if you try to come in here with a nice vehicle you can pretty much be assured you will have 6 Vehicles parked around a 4 space to park a lot around you in Every Which Way but Loose. They even have a bulk section with a lot of spices, so that was nice. It is a little bit pricey but I guess that's the cost to pay to be autonomous in the desert for a few days. Definitely the best stop you can make before Big Bend National Park.

I was…read moreglad we stopped in Marathon because it's got a lot of cool stuff on its "main st" style strip, and while the French Company Grocer isn't fancy, it is surprisingly well-stocked with pretty much anything you could think of wanting to bring with you while you're camping or "glamping" in this beautiful part of Texas! The staff were also super nice and helpful, and we couldn't resist getting some of their homemade cookies that were absolutely delicious. If they have the cherry cookies while you're there, grab one! Heck, grab five and enjoy one while you're strolling down the strip of unique shops, just make sure you finish before you head into the little art gallery and gift shop, which is also a must-see!
