Did I mess up or play it right?…read more I went to get my Bings, which are healthy energy drinks. I usually go to Harris Teeter but I know the Food Lion in Mooresville has them on sale so wanted to check this one out. They did indeed have Bings on sale, but only for one flavor, which I had never seen before. That being the case, I took my 12 Bings (three on sale if by flavor) and went to the register to inquire. Up until this point, I was a normal, logical, and respectful human being. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how long that lasted. I approached the cashier and put the Bing-filled handheld basket on the stationary conveyor belt and looked at the cashier but she was violently cross-eyed. No big deal but just not something I expected so I froze for a brief second. Maybe five seconds. "What?" she said. "What?" I replied as if me staring at her for five full seconds was normal and I didn't understand her question. "You're staring at me because I'm cross-eyed." "Me?" I pointed to myself. "No. I didn't even notice that." I was taught as a child that the only good lie was a white lie to protect someone's feelings. "Yes you were." "Okay, maybe, but I was just admiring how beautiful it is because, figuratively speaking, it's like being at the beach and the mountains at the same time. "The beach and the mountains, dude?" She just stared at me. I think. It wasn't going well and without saying a word, I picked up my basket and headed toward self-checkout. Along the way I mumbled to myself out loud: "Just tying to help the human race by not using self-checkout but whatever." So, if you saw a dude that looks like me mumbling to himself in the store, that was me. Or if you just saw a dude that looks like me, that was probably me anyway. As for the store, and aside from this embarrassing experience, the lady at the self-checkout area confirmed that only one flavor was on sale (odd), but it was a simple and easy checkout experience. However, I grabbed one of those $1 packets of vanilla wafers along the way and later learned they tasted like coffee-flavored cardboard. Avoid those! But now it motivates me to get the regular vanilla wafers because they are great. Maybe the store does this on purpose. If so, genius move. The staff here is hit and miss as are the prices. The vibe of this whole shopping center has gone downhill over the years due to Huntersville getting greedy and overbuilding everywhere. It's not about top-line growth; it's about quality of life. Your greed has backfired and you have failed miserably. Your legacies are destroyed forever. For a better shopping experience and great prices, go to Aldi across the street but Food Lion isn't bad, it just Food Lion. It's the supermarket equivalent to McDonalds. You just need to know what to expect.

Kudos to the assistant manager with the nuyorican accent for trying to resolve a silly matter that should have never happened Semi- praise for Malia, an associate that's been in place for less than 30 days per the Asst. Mgr, for trying at the start of our interaction but clearly shows her disdain + childish ways when she told me I lied. My gosh, new or underage ....I've never once felt comfortable or able to tell any walking adult that they are lying while rolling my eyes WHILE I'M AT WORK. Help me for even trying. Young or not, she's at work and should know good and well. Alas, this place should be closed as they marked my online order picked up when it hadn't. I called Thursday, August 14th following instructions the email provided. In the end, Malia told me the manager told them to put back all orders as they hundreds and no one was picking them up. This was incredulous to me as I had just ordered Wednesday. They picked it Thursday. To Malia's credit she offered to manually fill my order again and I eagerly denied that excruciating waste of time. I asked what's needed so this refunds and not shows picked up. She put me on hold returning to say the manager said I had to come in. That was too much so I knew I'd just deal with Amex and be done with this company as I'm clearly not their target market. And, that's okay.

A few months ago they ran a 30% off sale and we wanted a large rectangular table for our deck and of course they didn't have one here and we had to drive to the other side of Gastonia to that Big Lots to get it. Same thing two years ago when they ran a sale on furniture and there was a recliner I wanted and of course they did not have one here and we had to drive to the Newton location to get it. This is the closest Big Lots to my house but I have learned that at this store with any major sale they will not have any of the items advertised and its just waste of time and gas to drive to this store.

I'm a huge TJ Maxx addict/fan so I shop here quite often! This location/store, in my opinion, has…read morealways been fairly organized but as with any discount store such as this there are often days when you go in and it looks like cyclones have been through. I feel this location/store is rather small and that could add to the messy feel at times. Despite having to pick up misplaced items or sort through the hodgepodge (mostly in the clearance section), I love to shop at any TJ Maxx to save money on brand name items, especially clothing for my son and I and shoes for me! Saving money on brand name clothing is especially important when you have teenagers that insist on being trendy or "branded" as I call it. Please note the clothing is past/previous year so all teens may not go for this! This store has plenty of brand name clothing for men, women and children but only has shoes for women. However, this is standard for TJ Maxx. I feel this location doesn't have as many big brands like The North Face, Hilfiger or my personal favorite, Lucky Brand as other locations but that could be because those items don't sell as well in our small town. Bigger brand equal bigger price tag even here at TJ Maxx! This store has a good selection of luggage and purses, as well as home goods. I have often found good buys in the home goods section. It's kind of like going on a treasure hunt of sorts! Some people like to go to yard sales, flea markets or Goodwill but I prefer TJ Maxx for my bargain scores! TJ Maxx is a really great place to shop for gifts at Christmas, too! There's generally an entire area at the end of the women's clothing section specifically dedicated to inexpensive gifts. Yes, another score for me! I, also, like their specialty foods section, jewelry and pet section. I found dried persimmons a couple years ago and now my Dad is hooked on them. I see/purchase 2-3 bags during the Christmas season. Not sure if it's a seasonal item or not. I have purchased numerous watches and jewelry pieces from TJ Maxx over the years! I purchase my pet beds here, too! This location is my go to store because TJ Maxx is my favorite store to shop in and it's convenient! If I don't find what I'm looking for here, I just go to a larger one in a surrounding town. Do yourself a favor and go on a treasure hunt in this TJ Maxx today! You never know what goodies you'll find until you start digging, especially in the clearance section at the back of the store! I've never had an issue with poor customer service at this location but in my experiences, you don't really interact with staff until you reach the registers for check out. Staff have always been pleasant to me! I'm so glad Statesville has this TJ Maxx!
