I was skeptical however I see that this place is known for it's ready meals! I chose a salmon, rice and broccoli...that I could pop in the oven or microwave. I don't eat meat, but do eat fish...and so was happy to see salmon. I was impressed with it as it cooked exactly as the directions said. And it was delicious...so glad I got it. It was a perfect serving, with the perfect amount of seasoning....and I enjoyed it for a light lunch before I attend a wedding today! The other reason we came here, was to find my ginger beer since I am quite the "ginger beer snob." And so they didn't disappoint...the best ginger beer is Fever Tree and they had it! We were able to get several things that will make food choices easier while I am here...and fruit as well. Definitely a great place...reminds me of Whole Foods...but a little more special!

I brought my ice packs and cooler just to shop here after a long pulmonology appointment for my daughter on February 17, 2026. I'm learning that the HEB brands are okay in most cases, but their chips and other items have bioengineered (genetically-modified) ingredients that are probably also in other items I buy, but it's disappointing... something to watch since there still isn't much information about the health risks. The staff members stay fairly busy so they don't go out of their way to assist folks, but our cashier was real friendly. The Texas section is one of my favorites. There are so many neat gifts for all my Texans. It has a gas station too. Happy shopping, y'all.

I have been doing business at this Food King location for more than 20 years. I visit this store…read moretwice a week consistently. I purchased some plumbing parts that I didnt need and couldnt find the receipt for. I decided to try it and see if they would do store credit. A manager was called to the register named NATHAN. I was so impressed by this young mans character and skill in the handling of this issue that I had to write this. He stated in the exact words: "Let me show this to my manager but I can tell you that they think its important to keep good customers and Ive seen you here before." He went into the office and came back and we matched my bank transactions to the receipts he pulled from the days. He stated that the numbers had to match for bookkeeping reasons! NATHAN was a person that was TRULY working on behalf of his employer using skills and reasoning that matched exactly what was needed to follow policy and retain customers at the same time. This is a rare and exceptional combination of skill. I havent been more impressed in a very long time. Nathan is a jewel! I am an experienced patron and critic and will keep Nathan in mind when training my own future staff. Nathan/Food King Management reading this.. One more big favor.. Please reorder the Blue Bell FRENCH Vanilla Ice cream. I havent seen it on your shelves in a year but I look for it every trip.
