My wife goes in and they always ask her how the family is doing. Food City is owned by its employees and their prices tend to be on the higher side for some items. They do have a deli counter that offers some good meats that we get when they do on sale. Corn beef or pastrami goes on sale for $9.99/lb every couple weeks and it tends to go fast. One big positive is they carry several lactose free options with milk and cheese so I can eat those without any issues. The only negative I can find is when we get lots of rain and wind, in the area, their produce department gets water coming in from the ceiling. They typically have to throw out all contaminated produce and they shut that area down for the protection and safety of consumers. They should just spend the money to fix the roof. They recently relined the parking lot which makes parking much easier and organized because everyone would park in different ways and directions which reduce how many could park. Oh one other thing, they offer a LARGE selection of nibs (small alcohol bottles) and at a very decent price. Average price ranges from $1.99 to $4.99 depending on the brand or type of alcohol. The tobacco and alcohol area is where they seem to make the bulk of their money.

I keep seeing friends pictures having the cinnamon rolls on Sunday here. My turn to give it a go…read more I've been here a few times for veggies and the like and was sure I had not reviewed as of yet. Owner operated and staffed, it's a small business you can support, the items come from their Farm two miles from the stand! They carry everything for your meal preparation needs are. Stocking seasonal produce, local favorites, and state favorites. We arrived just after the flags were hoisted that they were open. Plenty of parking and handicap accessible. Store is perfect sized with ample walking and items displayed at arms length. A farm stand decorated with signage and pictures. Owner greeted us and asked if she could help us find anything, we were looking in the bakery case and did not see the rolls we've heard so much about. It's Sunday and it's known as cinnamon roll day; they are displayed and served in the coffee room, around the corner. We were so early the rolls had not come out yet. With in three minutes they came out hot with melting icing YUM!! You're choice to take a plate or to go container. Plenty of napkins and forks. We sat in our car since it was a cold fall morning to enjoy our treat. The dough has a nice buttery flavor, dry yet not crumbly. The cinnamon and sugar layers had the perfect amount of each that one did not over power the other. For someone who feels breakfast is not complete without bacon, I really enjoyed. $2.99 each was reasonable.

For those in Maine, all the poles in the parking lot in Farmington are untouched and unharmed by the vehicles (ha ha ha). Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I have not problems finding anything that I am looking for. The app helps guide me to the items I am looking for following a quick search. I am now going to go to the Farmington location rather than the Auburn one from here on out.

This review is in regards to the auto service department. My husband ordered studded snow tires…read moreover the phone a couple of weeks ago and made an appointment for 7am a few days later with the representative. He arrived to the appointment to be told by a very rude employee out smoking a cigarette in the garage area that they don't make appointments at 7 am. They left him standing in the garage area and disappeared inside without a word. After a few minutes he followed them in and asked to speak to a supervisor. They did find his name written down but the wrong tires were ordered. No supervisor ever showed up. The employees were rude and not helpful. He then insisted that they ordered the right tires and he left. He ended up down the road at VIP who took care of him right away. We still have not received any call from Walmart about the tires. We will never go back and use that auto service center.

The thing that is frustrating is they seem to cater to the out of towners more than the people who are here for them year round. After the weekend, the market is empty and they restock toward the middle or the end of the week before the tourist come. Their produce is disgusting, nothing is fresh. Try to find anything in the store and it's a challenge even for the people who shop there all the time. And let me just say this about the choices, seems like whoever is ordering is only getting a brand they like and then only what they would choose. For instance they carry Brigham's ice cream, the only flavor, peppermint stick. I happen to like that type but why buy only one flavor. I've tried finding large cans on albacore solid white tuna and so many other things, that were always there before this group bought the store and can never find them. They really need to take into consideration the people who live here and maybe cater to the people who keep them in business year round!

Most of their products are Hannaford brand, their paper bags say "Hannaford", even their name badges have the Hannaford brand. But don't dare call this a Hannaford store or the employees will give you an earful, lol. If you go there in the weekdays they have some very entertaining locals who often walk the aisles for something to do. You get shopping and entertainment all in one.
