Brookshore reminds me of the grocery stores of the 1970s, when the staff actually cared about the…read morequality of the store. Produce is always fresh, and they do a fantastic job of selling new product when it comes into their store. Case in point,... right now is 'green hatch chili pepper' season. Brookshire bought a huge amount and is pushing it in their stores, along with instructions on how to roast/clean/cook it. As a result, I bought some, followed Brookshires guidance, and am now 100% on board with green hatch chilis. You get points for purchases you can use on petrol purchases, the bag-boys walk you to your car, and every single employee is eager to help. I used to go to Walmart down the road, but last year decided to pay a fraction more and now Brookshires is my jam. So, why am I only giving it 4 stars instead of 5? This Brookshires USED to have a great little 'clearance bin' with meats & sandwiches at a Reduced Price. They seem to have done away with that, and the only 'clearance bin' is 2-3 feet of shelf space with garbage on the end of one of the aisles. There is never anything good there, and that section of the store is the worst-kept and least organized part of the store. It's like a 1990s K-Mart clearence bin, with items just dumped in and randomly priced.

The people I met working at this store were awesome, truly genuine and kind individuals. Items in the store included: vintage toys, books, home items like furniture, dishes, housewares, quilts ... this store has EVERYTHING. Visiting the Armory Flea Market is worthwhile. The location probably has 25-35 vendors, this store is by no means a mess but be prepared to be observant and bend down to see every shelf. This is not a giant mall, but we found multiple items we have been searching for here this afternoon! Do not let the green shipping containers at the front scare you off, keep walking it is worth it to explore. They only take cash so come prepared.

The selection of beer was pretty good, but they put beer on one end of the store farthest from the wine... the separation really makes no sense. Then we were looking for pita chips... none in the chip isle none in the crackers... again all the way on the other end of the store in the bakery area?!? Things just seemed to not make a lot of sense, but the people are nice, they did have a good selection and the checkout was quick. I asked for one pound..I got home with my fish and this fish was so hard it couldn't be eaten. It was like chewing rocks. I was so excited to be able to get fish because you all have priced it so high that I cannot afford it anymore. I love the fish you all sell in the Deli. It has an amazing, great flavor. The types of items you can find here: vintage clothing, dishes of all colors, every trinket you can imagine, taxidermy, aprons, quilts, seasonal decorations, pictures, furniture items, tools (just a few vendors), brass items. An incredible aspect is that instead of tons of signs saying things like, "Restrooms for employees only," or "Do not touch," signs said things like, "If you pick this up, please lift here ...." and arrows to the restroom. They also sell reasonably priced beverages at the counter - water and canned soda. Things are clean and arranged in a bit of a maze, but the large array of unique finds makes each step worth it. The first one in my opinion had the most things that were interesting and I was able to find a few dolls here. The second one had some other items that were interesting but I didn't get anything. The third was more of antiques for outside and there was no air conditioning in that building. So be aware during the summer, it's probably going to get hot. Prices were pretty fair and the service is helpful. One of the employees took some dolls out from a case for me to look at. I'd come back. Parking is on the street..
