Super clean store, featuring a wide selection of merchandise across all price points (remember, Dollar Tree isn't just $1.25 anymore), a large refrigerator/freezer section, and several aisles of groceries, including brands you might find at Hy-Vee, Walmart, and more. They've expanded their special foods, and I came across several healthier options. A nice place for cards, party supplies, helium balloons, seasonal items, snacks, cleaning products, office supplies, and much more. Friendly staff each time I've visited--large parking lot. Recommend!

(As a mom of two with an insanely packed schedule, delivery is essential.) Alas, it's available now for online shopping and pickup! I ordered on a Friday morning and picked up my order later that afternoon. (Pickup is available for any order over $30.) The online interface is great! Compared to Hyvee and Walmart I'll make the bold statement in saying it is the best. I say this because there are plenty of deals at Fareway (buy this item and get this item free) and 1) it shows your these deals seamlessly but also, 2) you're able to see the discount in your cart right away! Pickup slots are right out front, directly outside the front door. Just push a button on your confirmation email to say when you're leaving or there. My order came out super quick, the staff was wonderful, my order was correct and price was right. No complaints here! I'll be ordering pickup again soon! Try Fareway's online ordering now.

Recently I had begun shopping there more and…read moreyesterday I made several purchases but one of the items I paid for did not make it into my cart. When I went back today to get the missing item, I showed them the receipt that showed the purchase but they said they would need to look at their camera footage to be able to tell what happened. Hy-Vee would never have asked for that and would have just replaced my item. At the end of this experience the clerk then told me I must have forgotten to put the item in my cart, even though their employee had been loading the cart. I will not be back...

Well good, rich people stay out of here because something like 80% of the food is organic. Most of the stuff tastes just as good as the stuff you're paying a ton of money for. And they have little hidden gems like the sauerkraut. I mean this stuff is pure gold and you would have never known about it unless you went into the poor People's store. I do have to take away one star however; this is due to the fact that you only sell white hotdog buns. I mean come on all these some of us do eat multigrain or whole wheat. I spent most of my time looking at shoes. They had a decent variety, but a lot of styles could be found online for $20-30 cheaper. Pretty typical department store markup, so not a huge surprise, but something to keep in mind if you're looking for the best deal. That said, the service was great -- the employees were friendly and asked if we needed help without being pushy. It's always nice when staff check in but still let you browse at your own pace. Overall, if you like seeing things in person before you buy, it's a solid option. Just know you might pay a little extra for the convenience. So you better believe we stock up when we come here! This year, we happened to be in Iowa City during Black Friday and we decided to brave the crowds and go to Costco. To our surprise, it was not as chaotic and crowded as we thought it would be. I'd say it was a typical crowd that you would see on a Sunday, maybe a tad more shoppers. We stocked up on all of our essentials in preparation for the winter season and now our fridge and pantry are well filled. We even snagged a box of 24 cans of Spindrift for $9.99 which is absolutely the best deal we've seen for Spindrift. We also got a huge cut of New York strip steak for $7.99 per lb which will last us for months! All in all, this Costco is well stocked, well organized, and clean. The lines move pretty quickly, especially since they have a self-checkout and regular check out line. Service is efficient and there is a covered parking lot with lots of parking spaces. We are happy with our haul and will be back the next time we're in the city :)
