The produce was fresh and plentiful. The bakery and deli area was fully stocked. The meat section was full. I was looking for horseradish and the person in the meat department was able to help me find the horseradish. They still sell kimchi and I bought some! It's Jonga brand from Korea. I like this store better than I have in years.

Said groceries may be in a sad state, but if you need food they do indeed sell said food. The staff seem nice. There is a gas station and pharmacy at this location because it's Walmart. The bad: This is a windowless, dimly lit, depressing store. The clientele is generally a bit rude (like I got side eye when I asked if someone would scoot over so I could procure some shredded cheese...after I politely waited for at least 2 minutes for them to move--they were texting). Parking is a hold-your-breath-someone-may-rear-end-you experience. The produce, meats, etc. aren't even up to Walmart's mediocre standards and I'm not sure why. The other: Depending upon your likes/dislikes, self checkout is likely your only choice. I have no idea why people would shop here when there's an Aldi, Publix, Target (with grocery), Fresh Market, and probably something else I haven't found within 5-10 minutes driving distance. Trust me, it's not worth it.

When I was there I do have to say that finding things in there was a lot easier and I do appreciate that. My only problem with the Dollar Tree now is; first it went to $1.25, now I've seen prices on up higher and higher they seem to keep going, shouldn't they have to change their name soon? The selection of school supplies was impressive honestly, brand name Sharpie markers in every color you could think of . This is why I gave them 4 because they're trying so I'm impressed by that. I will keep a close eye on them and update soon

I've purchased lots of items here for church donations such as going away gifts for college kids, and stocking stuffers. Also they have a good assortment of greeting cards for cheap! I've gotten cleaning supplies here also. Customer service here is friendly and helpful if they aren't covered up with business and the store is neat and organized. I've used their website to order things for Mom and the prices are super cheap and shipping is free if you spend enough money and it's not much maybe $25.00. I've had great experiences both in store and online! Do shop at Dollar Tree and don't sleep on their website! Thanks Dollar Tree! Thanks Dollar Tree!

I then left the store without having made any purchases. Upon returning home, I realized the store clerk did not return my Discover card to me, and that there was a purchase of $23 + change by a stranger on my card. The usual RUN-AROUND ensued: Big Lots told me I must take it up with Discover card, and Discover card referred me back to Big Lots. Bottom line: I was SWINDLED this $23 + change by paying for either a stranger, or the employee's purchase. NOT a lot of money, but enough to warrant warning others to be aware of this situation. Big Lots did not have the integrity to check their security surveillance to determine that I did NOT make this purchase, and to determine who DID. Way to screw over your long-time, loyal (senior citizen) customers, BIG LOTS!

But then, some days, a stroll around the store can be just what you need to brighten your day. Walking around Target, feeling the texture of the pajama pants, comparing lipstick shades - things you just can't do from an iPad on the couch. Of course I ended up with things in my cart that I didn't go in for but I also didn't come home with what I wanted - the skim milk was set to expire the next day and the only available size of the laundry pods that I wanted would last me a year. Target is not much different than a number of stores today - finding help was nearly impossible. I used self checkout which I'm sure got me out a whole lot faster than waiting in the only open check out lane. I'm not about to give up online shopping anytime soon but spending an hour strolling around Target was a nice distraction.
