I cannot even tell you how many times I have been to Dunnellon and never set foot in this Winn…read moreDixie. Based on past experience, I have a certain image of Winn Dixie, and I just knew that was not a store I would enjoy, nor find anything I want. Boy, was I wrong. This is not your typical Winn Dixie. Granted, it's no Publix, but it's much, much better than I imagined. It is much better than the Sweetbay up the road. It's large. It's clean. It's well-lit. There are "wood" floors in the produce and floral section. It does not seem old, or dingy, or anything like what I remembered from past Winn Dixies. They have a HUGE produce section with some great looking produce. Although if you are in this area, I would highly recommend a local produce stand over supermarket produce, trust me, local tastes 1000x better- but if you must get supermarket produce, this is not bad! They even had a small organic section (with 10lb bags of carrots for juicing, so that's saying something), and a large section of fruit and veggie juices (Naked brand, Odwalla, Sambazon, Bolthouse Farms, etc). They do not have Boars Head at the deli, but we tried the brand they had, and it was good. They have a large section of organic fruit juices on the shelf. They had small sections of health foods in each aisle (drinks, snacks, cereals, etc) and I found several gluten-free items. They have a pretty decent selection of Amy's frozen foods, and they even had some frozen Glutino and Kinnickkinnick items (including donuts). In the cleaning section, I found Seventh Generation Free & Clear dish soap and laundry detergent (that particular one is hard to find even at Whole Foods), and several other eco-friendly or scent-free cleaning products. I was very surprised, and very pleased. Try it- I promise it is not what you are expecting from a Winn Dixie.

We took our problem to Jessica the manager who helped us with the matter after checkout. I really hope Becky is fired because she is not a person who should be working in customer service. She was incredibly rude and discriminatory to us for no good reason.

This store is very clean and nicely organized, making it easy to find what you are looking for. I've saved a lot of money shopping weekly here. This place offers all the staples like milk, eggs & bread. Items such as laundry products, kitchen & bathroom products, deodorants to shampoo, body washes, candles and a great selection of frozen foods from vegetables, meats, fish, pizza to icecream pies, fruit pies, bottled water and more. They even have a new British & European food section. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Definitely worth visiting.

All three times they were out, but they had ribeye steaks, which are cut from...ribeye roast. I was a butcher for fifteen years and know bad orders happen, but this is clearly intentional to boost the gross profit percent through deception and down right corrupt. I have also gone there five times for advertised bacon. out each time. I drove over ten miles each time. Very expensive for switch and bait. The mgr called me after I presented this complaint to the store and was very apologetic and promised they would have the roasts all of the next two days. Went back just after 3:00 the next day and they only had the vacuum bagged ribeyes for one dollar more. This guy never runs out of tricks to keep his profit above ad prices. This has much less labor involved because they only have to weigh and put out. The clerk acted like I was stupid for wanting an item after the butcher left at two. There were no stockers yet they had canned goods, bread, produce, drinks, etc. We ALWAYS had backup meat on racks in the back to keep the counter full. I worked several stores for three companies and we would have been fired for intentionally not having products this consistently. I was offered the sale price but it would have been 70 dollars for the whole ribeye! This has ruined my Christmas plans.
