I couldn't believe they were even open. There were boxes stacked on top of each other and carts filled with stuff all over the place. There was hardly anything on the shelves. The aisles were packed with crates and boxes and I had to walk sideways just to get through. After finding the breadcrumbs, I started looking for the craft section when I stepped on a piece of glass. I pulled it out of my foot, continued toward the craft section so I could grab what I needed and get out of there. There were shelves in front of the whole section I wasn't even able to see what was behind them. I was extremely mad about pulling a piece of glass out of my foot that I didn't even care to get the paint anymore. Obviously I'll go elsewhere for that. When I reached the register, a girl started to ring me up and I showed her the piece of glass that I pulled out from my foot (I carried it in my hand the whole time) and I said I stepped on glass here and I pulled this out of my foot and I threw it on the counter and she replied with "oh fun" and then said "that will be $1" so I obviously paid for my purchase and walked out to a what looked like a homeless person helping another employee carry boxes outside. I have never ever had an experience like this in my life. It is absurd and disgusting the way that this store is ran. As for the glass in my foot, I guess I shouldn't worn hard soled boots before I went in but I didn't get the memo that there would be glass all over the place. I am completely in shock.

My photos show this brick and mortar of Ferndale Foods in different seasons to prove it! This grocery store is packed with fresh fruit and vegetables on the far left to dairy and juices on the far right. They offer a full butcher service in the back of the store plus packaged meats. They also have a hot and cold deli service on the right. The store is always clean and aisles are box free for easy accessibility. At the entrance, there are both cashier- manned and self-checkout lines. Customer service is available for bill payments too. This area also includes a shadow location as the Lincoln Rx Pharmacy. Note: Their lottery area is a cash only purchase and they close at 8pm daily and 7pm on Sunday.

There are no new books, just an excellent selection of hardcovers and paperbacks. The book smell is a 2/10, which on my scale is the pleasant smell of nostalgia and antiquity without the borderline aroma of musty questionability. The only two people I have seen there seem to be quiet but friendly and knowledgeable about the inventory. A nice throwback is the manual credit card slider if you've never seen one. I appreciate the variety of the children's section, a well-stocked science fiction section, and a small cabinet of collectible titles. The adult corner of the store seemed seedy and out of place. If you're a fan of used bookstores, you'll place this in the category of quaint and interesting; worth your time to check out. We liked the fairy and took some pictures. I got some crystal candy from a vendor, it was so delicious. I also bought a fun witch oven mitt from the Tea Room store, I love it, it works really well. You would not think so, but not all oven mitts are equal, some are not effective when you actually need it. We will be back and also look forward to their future fairs.
