However, over the last few months, I've overheard several shoppers discussing the aggressive behavior of the security guard on duty -- and I've now witnessed it myself. I've seen him stare customers up and down as if they're doing something wrong, and I've watched him follow people around the store. Today, I saw him approach a teenage couple in the makeup aisle and say, "You two are in here a lot." When they agreed, he continued, "I feel like I see you in here almost every day, but I never see you buy anything. Why is that?" The teens calmly explained that while they have bought items before, they don't purchase something every visit. I understand that security staff have a job to do, but at this point his behavior comes across as harassment, especially toward teenagers. This creates an uncomfortable and unwelcoming shopping environment.
