Better than an independent hardware store because you can find just about anything you need in one store! Helpful staff too.

I'm not sure why the reviews for this location are so low ... but I'm here to say that this is…read moreeasily the best Kroger I've found in Greater Nashville. We don't live anywhere near Goodlettsville, but we make it a point to go out of our way to visit this location whenever we're doing a big shopping trip. The parking lot is enormous, and there's an attached gas station for any of my fellow Kroger fuel points fiends. (I've also found the gas prices to be a bit lower than they are in Nashville city limits!) Sure this store can get busy ... but we've found the best time to shop is on a Saturday or Sunday morning right around 9 AM. You may encounter some employees stocking shelves - but I'd much rather that than a jam-packed store of shoppers. I've always found this store to be well-supplied, and have rarely had to ask an employee where something is located. It was touch-and-go for a bit during their recent renovation, but thankfully that's all finished, and the store looks better than ever. There's sometimes a line to check out, but it moves quickly enough that it shouldn't make an impact on the rest of our day. We bring reusable bags for our big trips - and prefer to use the larger self-checkout lane that has a belt. I will caution that the belt is a bit sensitive - but a little patience should be all you need to ring out your groceries.

This came immediately after being boldly instructed to stand at the 6 ft. line. Almost like being yelled at for putting the cleaner on the counter so the cashier could scan it. Perhaps her bold instructions would be better aimed at the cashier who moved around the force field to scan the cleaner violating my space. Just saying, if you're going to forcefully dictate what people are going to do, you might want to be nicer to begin with amd start the procedural conversation earlier. But calling me a jerk because i wouldn't break her own 6 ft rule? That's rude and uncalled for. There's no way to maintain 6 ft from the cash stand and check out.. politics... making rules that can't logically be enforced.

OK, lets get down to BIG business. Yes, most everything at GFS comes in larger than life packaging…read more That doesn't mean you should increase your portion size. The best part about this location is the friendliness of the staff. Yep, every single time I have been here I feel that they are my person assistants. Nothing makes you feel better than having every single person that works at the location check-in with you to make sure that you are finding what you need. Customer service makes me quite slap happy (no physical abuse was dished as a result of these visits). Want to make pasta sauce from scratch but don't want to boil and peel the tomatoes (take that Al Gore), come here and get (they have a variety to chose from) red sauce cans the size of your head. Imagine how big my eyes get! The have some really well-prepared products and the usual industrial restaurant low-quality foods. Why pay $5 at Trader Joes for 6 ounces of sundried tomatoes when you can get a pound of them here for the same price? Like feta? They have the real Greek variety in a massive pounder bag that is resealable (insert seal sound). Blueberries at Kroger are roughly $5/pint. Here, you can get 4 pints for about $7. They do have limited fresh veggies and fruit. They cut meat and cheese to order. You can get everything from breakfast foods to dinner, snacks to super pleasing in taste dessert foods. Also, basic cleaning supplies come in super sized portions which are great on the budget (less the back). Overall, GFS is a time and budget saver. Great for buying large and saving more. Although the typical "shaped meats" and prepared sides haunt the shelves, take the time and you'll find high quality products amongst the ghostly waist increasers. They even have tastings like Costco and Sams. Hahahhaha

Another rare five-star review but this place definitely deserved every star!…read more I learned about the little taco shop in the back from an Instagram post and convinced my husband that we needed to give it a try. First off, plenty of parking. Bonus. When you walk into the store, everything smells clean and fresh. The grocery section is well organized. The produce section is overflowing with fresh veggies that are well-priced. You can find most everything you are looking for at a grocery store. In the back of the store, they have a deli and a little taco shop. There are tables and chairs, so you can eat there or take your food to go. My husband got two Quesabirria Tacos and a side of rice and beans. I ordered three street-style tacos: Carnitas, Barbaco and Pescado, which was grilled. I also ordered a side of plantains. Throw in a bottle of water and the total bill was $31. There was so much food that I had to take the rice and beans, 2 tacos and my plantains home. I just could not eat any more! They have housemade salsa that they sell in pint containers. The Salsa Verde was so delicious that I have been putting it on all my food this past week. It's spicy but not overpowering. I'm going back just to get more of that salsa! Reading the comments from the Instragram post, people told the IG poster not to give away locals' secrets. This definitely is a hidden gem!
