It took them well over 3 weeks to clean the carb on our push mower. It wasn't leaking gas before we brought it in, but as soon as my husband filled it with gas, the whole tank of gas poured out on the ground as if something hadn't been put back in right. I understand that things can go wrong with faulty parts etc. but I honestly expected them to fix it for free or very discounted, but instead it was over $100 to then replace the carb(which they could've done initially). This was a used push mower that we bought from A friend. the whole mower is not even worth what they charged us for repairs(over $150), plus the inconvenience of bringing it in twice and not being able to mow our yard for the month they had it total.

Both times I've been there, I walk though the door and get excited, until I see that the older blonde woman at the front of the store/register just stares at me. She may love her job, but she sure doesn't make anyone feel welcome. Anywho the store had just gotten in a huge shipment of spring things, so there were boxes in the aisles. However, it was exciting to see what was coming out. But from the quality of the clothes (extra thin cotton), it made the clothes look cheap and perhaps after several washes wouldn't hold up. I went there specifically looking for bikinis and underwear. And to my surprise, I hit the jack pot. Lined bikinis were $9.99 (for both). I think the most I saw for a bikini was under $20. Just the day before I'd priced them at Kmart ($16.99 a piece). The quality was about the same. Underwear were 3 for $5. I even spotted a clearance rack with brand new NINE WEST jeans (size 2 only) marked down to $1. I guess that was truly giving them away. What the heck, I bought 'em. I collected my things, headed to the cashier, and without a smile or conversation, the older blonde woman cashed me out. No "thank you" or "have a nice day" once I was done. I am giving this place a 4 for shopping fun, but the older blonde cashier took the ratings to a 2 because she's not in the business of "customer service". Hence, a 3 is the final score. I'll shop there again, but maybe I can time it differently.

This place feels a lot like it... but... I don't know. Part of it is probably the location, right in the middle of industrial Elm Hill Pike. Part of it is the ambiance, which feels more like a small warehouse than a store. Part of it is the very blase attitude of the employees: they're very whatever, when I'm looking for a smile and some chitchat. They've got lots of great snacks and they're cheap cheap cheap. Stuff looks like vending food stuff and at least 25% cheaper. Loving that. There's janitorial stuff, business stuff, office supplies, that kind of thing. You can get in and out there faster than Sam's, and it's reasonably priced, but it's got a chilly attitude, and not very inviting.

While it may not be a huge spot, it is filled to the brim with goods of all varieties and is certainly still a store that I can and have easily been entertained at for a while. We popped in looking for some furniture in the form of a dining table set and we ended up leaving with a candle, some outdoor lights and a cooler...none of which we were after or truly in need of. Back to the table...they had a table we loved, but they had it due to some damage on it and unfortunately the scratch was a little too deep to fix so we sadly passed. Most of the items are new in package, but they do sell second life items that feature some variety of damage. Nothing glaring, but enough to be noticeable on most of these items. Overall, The Yard Sale Store was a cool spot to spend some time on a weekend afternoon. While we do not find ourselves in Mt. Juliet too often, when we do...this place with be on the radar!

This is a small "mom and pop" place with not a lot of merchandise. That said, there are some good…read moredeals to be had here. I work in Glasgow 2 days a week and always try to go by once a week. Mostly surplus and scratch and dent, with an emphasis on food and drink. I even buy slightly expired stuff sometimes and have had good luck with it.
