As a large group of 'out of towners' Bertha sure did reach out to us making us feel welcome. We had to have passed a dozen employees where no one spoke at all... but Bertha went completely out of her way to reach us. She gave us some good suggestions on foods and event told us alittle bit about herself and how much she loves her job. She even gave us some cool facts about the meats that come to Ingles 82. The store was super clean with even cleaner bathrooms. Great experience while shopping and even better when we hit the gas station because we got $.15 off each gallon thanks to the $330 we spent inside the store. Love Ingles!

Put in a specific item and the app shows every thing in the section. You do not have the item, but you let the exact name to be typed in. How rude. Corporate again. We know you are a small market in a small town. And you have Walmart looming. But still. Can corporate at least try to show some respect to us locals? She also argued with us about the product we requested. When she showed us her initial slices, we said the cut of ham she sliced was very fatty. We requested a different part of the ham, but she just insisted multiple times that she had cut the ham we asked for. We never denied this point, we have ordered this specific ham before and it has not been this fatty. The last few slices she cut were a lot better (less fatty). We would shop here again and avoid the deli department.

I wanted to buy it warm, as if I bought it cold and didn't keep it chilled until the evening, it would get funky, and I had no means to keep it cold until then. All I could find was chilled Heineken in the rear fridge. I went looking for an employee and found one near the deli department. I told him my dilemma and his reply was "I work in the deli". And went back towards the beer again and found another store employee. I told him my dilemma, and he points towards a bottle of WINE and says "This beer is warm". I told him that's wine, not beer, took him over to the fridge, showed him the 18 pack of Heineken and asked if there was any warm boxes of it in the rear stock room. He says "I don't know." They need to better enforce mask usage at this grocery store…read more I stopped in last evening and was pleased to see ALL the workers and cashiers in masks. Good job. However very few customers had on masks and seemed oblivious about social distancing. I wanted to get out of there immediately. There was one sign at entrance that stated masks were "required" but this was not being enforced. I believe it's the stores right to not serve anyone or check anyone out if they don't have on their mask. It's a requirement and this is a food store. Because it is mostly locals, the customers will learn quickly and they will adjust. It's not acceptable that the majority of customers are allowed in without masks. And the other customers and Food Lion workers deserve better.

I really enjoy shopping in the Garden Center and Hardware/Home sections, too. This store has a lot of home repair and finishing items as there is not really a hardware store (Lowe's) in town. Holiday section is smaller than most but it still has plenty to choose from. There is a Pharmacy and Bakery in this store, too. This store may not have the exact brand you are looking for but there is always an Equate version. Definitely worth the drive because I never leave stressed out!

She'd never seen that issue but determined it was not properly glued & knew that this location didn't carry Loctite glass glue but they did carry at Martinsville VA 24 miles & can also order online. Electronics also gave me good info about computers & printers. No matter what area of store I find they are very helpful & knowledgeable at this store. Also, there are really good markdowns on items at this location which I've found in freezer & other areas of store (usually not on the markdown rack) but other areas I've been able to fill my freezer for super cheap. One time for $32 & another for $74 (in a new & bigger frig). Was told that this store cycles through inventory more to find what's best selling since it's smaller not a Supercenter. No matter what day or time I've gone there parking lot can look full but is never overcrowded or backed up with lines. Both the dairy & freezer are in good working order which is a problem with Lowes food as I've found dairy items like cheese are not even cold & was told by employee due to where the heater is situated so even though it can register temperature the product isn't at temp. My neighbor which works there said freezer is also a problem. Walmart have never had any issues with dairy or freezer items. They are going through a remodel hiring some more people for remodel. Would be great if it was a supercenter or had even more items given this is only big box store for county.

The staff was friendly in helping us find what we needed, and when we discovered they accidentally charged us double for the apples we bought, they quickly refunded the money to us. This was the closest grocery store to our AirBNB, so we visited it a few times while we were in Boone, but I probably still prefer the Harris Teeter a few miles down the road.
