No need to drive 10 miles to get to a supermarket when there's one right in Forest City. It tends to be pricier here because they're the only store in town. You want it, you pay the price or drive down the road a distance. The staff is always pleasant and they are always wiling to cut meat as needed/wanted in the meat department. My most recent stop was only to pick up some sliced almonds ($3.29) for a recipe -- an item that the two nearby Dollar Stores didn't carry. While there, I also passed a nice display of dried chili peppers, and bought some arbol chilis on whim ($2.29 for 3 oz). Relative to the grocery stores closer to my home, Weis has a far more extensive selection of items. For example, the fruits and vegetables, and salad bar, seem gigantic in comparison. And, as mentioned, I was able to pick up a specialty item, the arbol chilis that aren't available closer to home. Prices are seemingly a bit higher than home, and higher than some groceries stores headed towards Scranton but you'll save some on gas! One odd thing. I found on my receipt that I had earned a few Weis Rewards Points that could be used for gas at Weis' Gas-and-Go, Sunoco, or Mirabiro Fuel locations. However, the points were expiring the very next day (on Nov 25). I am happy to have this store in Carbondale. Staff were friendly. Check-out was easy. Parking was plentiful.

She got another cashier and they stood discussing my problem while I stood there while a phone was less than a foot from me. Rather than add to the more than 10 minutes I waited I chose to leave and use the phone at Burger King..what if this were a life threatening emergency? There are even times when I will run out of milk or eggs mid-week, and find myself stopping here for those items rather than shopping closer to home. In the several years my family has been shopping here, I have only had one incident where I was charged x2 for an expensive cut of Parmiggiano reggiano cheese but it was corrected during my next visit. While observing, most of these products look in great shape, which includes being well-stocked, and easy to find. It looks to me that the work they do pays off, which it does. With that in mind, it may come to a challenge of where to start, in terms of pricing, etc, but their unique selections (which in most cases,) have great quality. I could honestly spend time here for a while, or any Wegmans. Also, they provide food that includes an option for eating "for here," which provides tables for any convenience. The floor looks very clean and presentable, which is expected, and also hard work is done. No doubt, anyone will enjoy making a stop at Wegmans!
