I was pleasantly surprised to see AN ACTUAL BUTCHER shop in my area, so I stopped in to check it it…read moreout. I almost passed the place, because it is easy to miss, but I am glad I found it. At first, I was just happy to see some interesting and useful veggies and delicacies (Italian, Spanish and other nationalities). But, as I went to the rear of the store, I saw an old fashioned, honest to goodness butcher. There wasn't a ton of stuff in the case, like my former big Italian Butcher shop in NYC, but as we chatted I was to be pleasantly surprised. They were very accommodating. They are even going to get in some whole dried hot chili peppers I have been looking for. I was told by Fabio, the butcher, that they make their own sausage and other items, without chemicals or additives. I asked if there was any possibility of getting a cut of pork neck meat that I used to get in NYC that cooked up like veal cutlets. He brought out some neck meat, and we could see it was too narrow. I asked if it was possible it had been butterflied. He tried it, and it was exactly what I was looking for! So I got my 5 cutlets, the price was great, and was I elated. (Whenever I cooked them, people always said they were the best veal cutlets they ever had because they were so moist and have no grizzle. Of course, I would fess up eventually, lol.) I asked if he might be able to make stuffed veal roasts and other types of roasts, and chicken rollatini. He said he could make whatever I wanted!! He told me if he didn't already know how, that If I told him what I wanted he would either do what I suggested, or research how it should be done. I struck pay dirt with this place! There was some nicely marbled rib eye temptingly displayed right in front of me, that I eventually decided to take. Heck, I was sitting there looking at it the whole time, and it was only $6.99 a lb. He trimmed it as I asked before weighing, and cut it to the thickness I asked for. Of course, like any butcher, they have all sorts of goodies in the back. I will absolutely be back... I can't believe I didn't know the place was there. They've been open 7 months. You gotta try this place.

If a manager happens to find themselves accidentally on the selling floor, they avoid eye contact like their lives depend on it. They have discontinued many name brands and have substituted their new store brands, like Bowl and Basket, and Paperbird, which is hit and miss in quality. Wholesome Pantry is good. The self checkout area is filthy. But the help in this area has gotten more consistent if you don't mind bad attitudes. The parking lot is congested due to a bad design, which funnels all traffic past the front of the store. The prices are decent, but many prices are marked wrong on the shelves, especially the sale tags. If you check the mistakes on your receipt, you will find the total works out in favor of the store every time. Overall, you get the feeling that because the store is busy despite the fact that everyone hates it, they know they have you. This means that you will be treated with contempt. Your presence here is a burden, and you better just take what you get. The two stars are for the location, some of the prices, and the small shopping carts.

When this Walmart opened it wasn't small but after they finished the renovations it became much bigger... It appears to be bigger than the Burlington Walmart... A few things bother me in the parking area... First some of the customers are to lazy to put their carts in the corral or bring them back to the store... Quite a few carts are left in the Handicap parking area... This Walmart has a customer pick up parking area... Where the employees come out and load the customers vehicles... I think this is a good idea, that area has very wide parking spaces...

The clerk was helpful and got me going in the right direction, once she knew what I needed. (The store i used to pick up balloons from went out of business). I found the balloons i was looking for, paid for them, then gave them to the clerk, who filled them and tied them with the colorful string. The price was actually cheaper than the previous business I used to frequent. Afterall this is a discount store!
