Kokomo has a number of grocery stores, but they are big, impersonal, and not fun to shop in. The staff at Martin's is so friendly and helpful. I miss being able to do my shopping there each week. Surprisingly, for a small town grocery, they have lots of the specialty products I use. And now that I have to cook Gluten Free for some of my grandchildren, I appreciate the large selection of GF products, particularly the flours and basic ingredients. Harvest market on 116th St. in Carmel, has great prices on some of their produce! Given that this…read moregrocery is more of upscale, I am always pleasantly surprised. At the front of the store, when you enter by the produce, there are always fresh items on sale. If you sign up in their app for your phone, you can clip coupons and get even better deals. Many times the produce at the front of the store is cheaper than you can find at Meijer or Kroger. Right now, they have Florida strawberries for $1.50 with a clipped coupon, asparagus for $2.50 a pound, and cherry tomatoes for $1.50 a container. All of these prices beat Meijer.... I know, because I was just there! What I also like about Harvest Market is there are plenty of employees walking around the store and restocking items. It is always very easy to find someone to answer a question. This is unlike some grocery stores where you have to go to Customer Service to get any help and then wait in a line to reach the counter. Don't forget Harvest Market for your grocery needs!

First bite had everyone spitting it out in their napkins! It has a very peculiar and nasty taste so no one ate it. Returned to the store and was told that there would be no refund since it was bought on Thursday and not prepared til Saturday. Then she added that it was cut on Monday and should have been used sooner. She told me to take it with me since they didn't have a way to get rid of it. I told her it was HER problem and walked out. We believe to shop in our hometown and support small, independent businesses. This was a $15 lesson and a ruined family meal.

Besides, he shouldn't be screaming at his help for any reason. They are sweet Mennonite Amish, for the most part, and are always a delight to talk to. Shame on him for treating them in that way. This Amish store offers a variety of produce, cheese, bulk food items, Bob's Red Mill flours and grains, kombucha, frozen meats and more. We picked up some essentials along with a locally made jun kombucha and almond butter. Definitely adding this to our route for all future journeys to Michigan. They also sell a variety of carpentry items like benches, swings and sheds. There is a nice eating area off to the side for made to order lunch sandwiches and ice cream treats.
