They had cosmetics, some office supplies, baby items, a pretty decent selection of cereals/breakfast food, a good range of snacks/crackers/chips, and a really nice produce section. They also have a small section set aside for MSU gear, which was pretty neat as well. Checkout moved quickly (there are self checkout lines here too!) and the employee who helped check me out was very kind and helpful. Highly recommend visiting here! I'll be back often, since there's cheap gas and since it is in such a convenient location from campus.

And filled up at my expense. Kroger's gas will cheat you.

First off, I love Kroger. I have always been a huge fan of Kroger especially Starkville Kroger. I…read morehave no idea what is going on with this location, but I am so very disappointed. Over the past three months, I have consistently experienced problems that make shopping here frustrating and unsatisfactory. * Pickup delays: On multiple occasions, my scheduled pickup orders have not been ready until the following day. This is a problem because I live an hour away! It is frustrating to make it half way to the store only to receive an automated text stating my order will not be ready until the next day! Gas is not cheap, and I am a poor teacher. I mean seriously, just turn off the pickup times once you reach your limit for that time slot! * Missing items: Once, I drove all the way home only to discover that 20 items were missing from my order. No one offered an apology or resolution beyond a simple refund. Yet again, I live an hour away. Customer service suggested "Oh it's sitting right here. Just come back and get it." They truly acted as if it were my fault that the items were left out and I was inconveniencing them. (My bad. I guess I should have counted each individual item as we loaded them into my trunk-yes. WE. I always get out and help! * Poor product quality: The fresh produce I receive is often moldy or spoiled, which is unacceptable. Not once. Not twice. But every single time I order strawberries they are covered in fuzzy mold. * Customer service: The pickup employees are frequently rude and unhelpful, which only adds to the frustration. I have been a loyal Kroger customer because of the convenience and quality I've come to expect. Unfortunately, this location is falling far below that standard. I am asking that Kroger address these issues promptly and take steps to improve the pickup service, product quality, and customer service at the Starkville store. I hope to continue shopping with Kroger, but unless these problems are resolved, I will be forced to take my business elsewhere.

Oh, friends. How to describe Dirt Cheap? To simply label it a discount & salvage store would be…read moredoing it an injustice; it is a phenomenon you just kind of have to experience for yourself. It's crazy. And fun. And maybe a little overwhelming. The first thing you need to know is that you gotta be willing to dig. I have heard rumors that the stores in Louisville and West Point are cleaner and better organized, but the Starkville store looks like Target clearance exploded... shopping here is a challenge; if you are unwilling to maneuver your cart over all the crap in the aisle you won't find the good stuff. They take overstock and salvage from a whole bunch of places, but especially from Target. Their stock changes from day to day, but they almost always have good deals on home improvement sort of stuff: lighting, bathroom vanities, patio furniture, picture frames, tiles, etc. Some of my favorite finds to come home with me: a nice solid wooden patio table for $30, and a latte maker for $40. One word of warning: make sure to test your stuff before leaving the store! There's a table with electrical outlets at the back. Sometimes, it's a great deal.... sometimes, it's clearance for a reason.
