There are cotton prints for quilting, summer dresses, blouses, bags, and crafts There are some satins and laces for gowns for special occasions. There are some fabrics for business clothes. There is even a good selection of buttons and notions. The owner, Caroline, is an absolute joy to visit with. You can send your husband to the Railroad museum across the street to distract him. Caroline's husband runs the museum. It's a fairly short drive through the country from Highway 45. It makes a great side trip for Gulf Coast bound travelers like Midwestern Snowbirds. If you need to break down a long trip, just continue on to Meridian though the beautiful piney woodland and even add a day to your trip in Meridian, full of music, arts, crafts, children's activities and great food

There is none other like it in Dekalb. and these shops are closing in nearby Meridian, Ms. There were fabrics for weddings, prom dresses, and all sorts of everyday apparel. The shop owner was great to talk to. It was crammed full of beautiful fabrics to look at. Let me compare it to Jerome Tank's in nearby Philadelphia. Theirs is a great shop with lots of fabrics also, but theirs is specialized for quilters. There is nothing unique like chiffon or bridal lace at Jerome Tank's, but if you tell the lady in Village Cloth Shoppe, I'll bet she will show all that she has. Ask her for anything. She probably has it. I will hate it if she dies before i do. The shop will probably close after everything has been marked down to give-away prices, and it won't be replaced by another one like it.

I explain to her that I need this fabric for my work since I was waiting for 18 days already. My second order came incomplete and once again I called, the girl could not find my order and said that she would call me back. Nothing!! They didn't mess up once, but twice. I am done! I have told my colleges to never buy from this place again. Is not worth the headache. There is no respect for other peoples business and money. At this point, I do not want an apology, I want my fabrics which, I have paid for.

Since their relocation and change to a "furniture & antiquities store," they've gone downhill. First, they only have a few true antiques scattered around the store, and the majority of them aren't for sale. If they are for sale, they are overpriced. They were asking $35 for one mass-produced magazine from the 1930s that isn't even worth $5 seeing as to how it was in awful condition, and it's an easily attainable magazine. Second, I was standing at one of their showcases for 10 minutes before any of the staff came to assist me, despite them both making eye contact with me multiple times. A once great antique mall has turned into an overpriced, "shabby chic" furniture store that isn't worth looking in or buying from. When it was a true antique mall, Beard's used to be one of my favorite places. Now, it's just a disappointment.
