We had ordered through delivery but when we got it, it was the complete wrong order. I called the store, the girl laughed then the phone hung up. When I went up there, our delivery person was there also trying to help fix the store's mistake. The lady behind the counter was very rude during this interaction. Another worker had just completely given out the wrong order without even checking. When we finally got to get our food, half of what we ordered..they didn't even have. It's amazing! My favorite is the cinnamon sugar donut if you go, you have to try it! You also can't beat the price of their donut holes. Dillan got a kolache with jalapeños and sausage it was great. I do wish they would have had a raspberry filled donut but it was still great. read more

This is a rant, bear with me. I went to Shipley's on 10/10/23 to order donuts for a baby shower on 10/29/23. The theme of the baby shower for the baby girl was "sprinkled with love" with sprinkled donuts. So donuts were the center piece. I only special ordered 6 dozen glazed with sprinkles, of course, for the shower theme. I paid for my order, over $90.00. I was scheduled for pick up 11:00am Sunday morning, 10/29. 19 days later, Guess What? They didn't make my order, no apologies, rude, do not care attitude, and no explanation except for "the person that took my order put the order on the wrong board". My order was hanging on the "wrong board" for 19 days!!!! No one noticed?? They didn't offer to make my order real quick or add glaze and sprinkles to the existing donuts to make it right. They did replace my order with what was behind the counter. But no where close to what I ordered. Yes, I got one dozen pink glazed with sprinkles but they had bats and pumpkin sprinkles. Me and my family wanted to go get some good delicious donuts at 11:00 on Sunday and they slapped a close sign in our face and said that they had magically sold out of dough and then didn't even let us get a coffee or step foot in the door after driving all the way across town! Then they preceded to let someone else in while we still sitting in the parking lot. We felt as if we weren't allowed in just because weren't good enough! Customer service was not good at all! Also doesn't make sense how you run out of dough 3 hours before closing time when that all you sell! Perfect little donut shop! The staff is friendly. There is a drive thru window. And the most important thing...the donuts are fantastic! You can look through the window inside and actually watch the guys making the donuts. You can watch them glazing the donuts and then you're eating it 30 seconds later. Can't be any more fresh. I love our local Shipley's, the donuts are always yummy. My personal favorites are their donut holes, cinnamon and sugar donut, blueberry cake, and pretty much all of the jelly filled. Drive thru is efficient, It can get a little crowded inside so I usually go with the former option. Don't always get service with a smile but the donuts are good so Who cares haha read more

Definitely the best donut shot around. They have a great variety of donuts but the traditional glazed is always my favorite. These have more chew and bite than a Krispy Kreme donut so they are much better than sugar glazed air. They also carry a smoked sausage roll that is like Bigfoot, I dont mean that in the size realm, I mean that it is darn near impossible to catch these things in stock. They are popular and sell out quickly! Atmosphere is great as they have tables set up to read the morning paper, or to finish some paperwork before heading in to work or classes while you have your morning sugar and coffee fix. Also, one of my favorite things about them is that near closing time, they put all of their donuts at half off. The downside is that they go really quickly then and you are at the mercy of whats left, but it is always wonderful to score a half price dozen. read more

I know I am dating myself, but I was a student at MSU when Shipley's opened in Starkville in the early 1990's. I can't tell you how many sugar coated calories I consumed at that place and I made myself sick on the unseemly gluttonous inability to stop eating one donut after another from this place. During finals week, I lived on a diet of shipley's and coffee to keep going. It still brings back great memories to this day. Delicious doughy donuts, loved by many locals. Lovely sitting area inside, where you can view the racks of fresh donuts behind the counter and enjoy some coffee. There's also plenty of Starkville/Mississippi State memorabilia around the store, which makes it feel very homey. The drive thru is a bit unconventional as you have to drive behind several stores and around plenty of pot holes to get to, but it seems to work just fine for the purpose of inviting these donuts to accompany you in your car! read more

I called today to get delivery on my donut order and the number starting with 713 area code that was listed as their delivery number was very strange. A Spanish lady answered and didn't say the name of store and just said "hello?" I said "are you delivering right now?" She said no we are closed. Then she said "hold on I'll give you my supervisor's number and she can deliver for you." Then I sat on the phone waiting and I could hear was Spanish people talking in the back.
