The owner of the store was very kind. She made trips to Dallas to stock up and she'd ask me what I wanted and she brought it back. She even cooked me Korean soup one time. Its been a very long time but I still remember. God bless you k.

Kinda wish I had found out about K's when I was living in Portales, but I'm glad I got the chance…read moreto visit this grocery store during my short time in NM. This definitely isn't the most orderly grocery store out there (random food packages consumed by the owner left on tables, some frozen goods packed into Ziploc bags, items in random locations), but it is way better than not having an oriental grocery store in NM. Apparently they used to be located on Thornton, but moved to Main Street away from the busy center road that takes you down Clovis. Don't be alarmed if it feels like you're going the wrong way. K's Oriental is nestled among the various houses, located right next to another oriental store. Odd, but we decided to go to K's since the Yelp reviews sounded promising. Before we had taken the trip to Clovis, we saw that some reviewers mentioned the owner making orders of bulgogi and kimchi. Since there isn't any good AYCE KBBQ nearby, we decided to take a chance and order 24 oz of bulgogi for around $15 or so. Reviewers mentioned that it was good, so we took a chance. Upon walking in, somebody was actually buying some other order of meat that the owner had prepared, which looked like a good sign. The store seems like it's both the owner's house and a small grocery store mixed into one. There are a ton of good items that would have definitely kept me satisfied if I needed to stay in Portales for awhile. From ramen, to Asian sauces, to Asian vegetables (I definitely would have liked this since all I ate was basically broccoli) to frozen goods - you can pretty much find anything and everything here. If you can't find it, ask the owner and she will try to order it for you if she is able to. She has Chinese items, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Thai, etc. So the bulgogi ... we had thought the bulgogi was freshly prepared, but it seemed like it had been frozen for awhile. Not something that was newly made. For $15ish, that's a pretty steep price for just a tub of bulgogi. But maybe it would taste amazing with the tub of kimchi we had bought (I think the kimchi is divided into tubs from a large tub of kimchi that wasn't personally made by the owner). We warmed up half of the bulgogi, prepared it with rice, took a bite ... and we were very very disappointed by how salty and un-bulgogi like the meat tasted. So salty there was NO sweetness of that bulgogi marinade at all. It took several mouthfuls of rice to counter the saltiness. Not sure what the other reviewers were talking about, but this was definitely no good. Kimchi was also way too salty ... and only got saltier as it sat in the fridge. tl; dr - I wouldn't buy any of the foods prepared and packaged in tubs. Everything else should be okay. Credit cards are accepted, but cash is preferred. I would definitely visit again, but would not order the bulgogi ... or kimchi.

I came in here on the off chance they might carry diet Big Red since I was not able to find any stores in Amarillo that carried it. No luck on that. They did have regular Big Red with 62 grams of sugar per bottle for a pretty good price but I passed on it. I don't need a bottle of pop with 16 teaspoons of sugar in it that bad. I was also looking to see if they had any unique items in the Mexican food section and they did have some things that I have formerly only found in one store in Amarillo so I bought a couple items. I didn't want to roll around a huge cart not knowing if I would even buy anything and I had forgotten to bring in a recycle grocery bag so I was disappointed that they don't have any hand baskets but the girl told me very bluntly that they didn't have any because they all got stolen. I made a sadface to her and just hand-carried the items I was buying. As I went to check out they had a section at the end of each cashier line with some sale fruits which I thought was a great idea. I bought 4 bananas @20¢ each. I had been meaning to get some anyway and kept forgetting so it was nice to have the reminder right there in front of me for a good price. I definitely noticed that their prices were a little higher than stores in larger cities but I have found that in most of the stores in Clovis. It probably costs more to have things shipped in and they have to add that into their sale price.

Was in a hurry and wanted a quick lunch so I grabbed precooked spare ribs .Total disappointment. 3…read moreattached ribs drawned in sauce with little meat and a whole lot of fat . Didn't expect much due to the price but dang there at least could have been enough eatable portion for a small biscuit. What I got after shaving the bone was a lot of greasy fat and maybe a teaspoon on rib. Never again total waste of time .
