This little general store is literally located out in the middle of nowhere. Buried in the Sam Houston national forest, you'll find yourself about 6 miles from Cleveland and 11 miles from Coldspring Texas. It caters to local country folks that don't want or possibly need to go into the city. Yes, it covers all the bases. Bread, milk, eggs, chips, candies, charcoal, propane, and some clothing, office supplies, toys. Behind the counter you will find batteries and cigarettes. Bagged ice located just outside the building to cool down all the soft drinks you purchased inside. So why only 3stars? Well this little store is almost new. It's not as tidy, well kept, as most dollar general stores. As a matter of fact, it's possibly the most cluttered and dirty looking one I've been in. The grass is over 3 foot high and I almost got carried away by the east Texas misquotes. Whoever owns this franchise can do much better. Just because you are off the beaten path doesn't give you a license to have no pride in your business.
The place still gets 3 stars because it hits all the bases and it's providing a service to a needed area. read more
