I was surprised to see they have a meat department that is manned by a butcher/attendant. Not a huge selection, but enough to have a great barbeque. They were well stocked with chips and soda. We stopped in for ice cream, and there was a decent selection of flavors. Service was efficient. They are trying to get people in, out and on their way. A sign on terminals indicates that the card readers are slow, but it wasn't that noticeable. Due to COVID-19 occupancy in the stote is limited. The store is requiring masks for employees and customers. Patrons must knock on the inside door to be let in. A parking lot is shared with a neighboring business. Yes, there's a limited selection, but the staff will do what they can to help; there's also a pretty awesome meat counter and bakery, and greenhouse/landscaping supplies. This is always the first place I go when venturing out in Putnam County-have to support the local business if you want it there. The quality of their meet and baked goods is top notch and all the high school kids that work there are usually pretty helpful too.

If you are in Sandusky for the day or the weekend this is the place to go…read more This newly-renovated Kroger is unlike any I have seen before, and has incorporated elements from Target and Fresh Thyme to make that I really like. Fresh food offerings--excellent. There is a sushi bar and a fresh sandwich/pizza area, along with the usual deli, that provide excellent options for a quick meal, eat in or take away. The seating area is large and clean. The bakery is also strong, and I had a Panera-like cinnamon crunch bagel that was very tasty. If one of your party gets sick or hurt, there is a clinic in the store that seemed very inviting. It would definitely save a ton of hassle to go there rather than trying to find a doctor! With the fresh food, grocery, and bulk food options, easy to stock up on things, and they also have a large clothing section. Strangely, it did not feature much touristy beach wear and the like and seemed to cater to locals more than visitors. But, if you left something at home and need a shirt, etc, this would be a great place to obtain one while not slowing down the family expedition. All I can say is that I wish my neighborhood Kroger was this awesome!

I have been to Meijer's several times since moving to Ohio. It is not the usual grocery store I go…read moreto as it is located in Lima,OH and it's about 40 minutes from my home. I do come here on occasion, mostly because it sells items I cannot find in my local grocery stores in town like mojo, Cuban coffee, and other items necessary for me to make food from my culture. Meijer is kinda like Walmart, just nicer. It sells clothes, home decor, garden, pet food and items, and has a drug store. The supermarket is rather large and has a huge flower section. I enjoy shopping here, the only issue I have is with their pickup. It is handled by Shipt. The one time I tried it, they postponed the pickup 4 times! And the last time it was done last minute after I had already made the trip. Not everyone lives a short drive away. If I drove 40 minutes, I better have my items. Besides their pickup problems, it's a good grocery store and one I will return to.
