    Reservation price vs actual contract at pick up

    I was told by Dollar Customer Service line that this location EAGLE had separate Administration or something and they couldn't help me with an issue I had giving me higher rate (not taxes... the actual rate) than what I had in my reservation. The MANAGER there... Katrina was the one doing this mistake and even I point it out several times (at pickup time she lied to me because verbally said yes you have the same rate as your reservation then one day later after I reviewed and noticed my contract wasn't right I called and then emailed to the help line and she (Katrina- Mgr) have replied to my email saying "sorry... your reservation was only an estimate". I decided to return my car earlier so I emailed her again without getting any response so I had to drive to the Airport loosing one day of my vacation time and so they told me there that they won't refund anything (for the earlier return) since I signed a contract at time of pick up BUT yes... now they were able to adjust the rate that was originally wrong!!! Even the fact that I couldn't return earlier bothered me . Obviuolsy I will tell everyone I can about my bad experience with Dollar rent a car.

    Do not ever rent from these people. Guess I should have read the reviews before trying to rent from this dollar location. I had the same experience as everyone else. Reserved a midsize suv and they tried to give me a small SUV. Was also told I needed to proof of insurance, who does that I said, "ITS ON THE WEBSITE" ok thats a lie, not on the website I went back and looked see my photo. I did asked her to show me and she wouldn't, it was a sad attempt to up-sell. Bailey was so incredible rude, when I asked to to not repeat to me anymore I heard what she said, she accused me to telling her to shut up, never happened, she lied again. It got worse from there. Good news its I am a local in Vail and had a back up, feel sorry for people who don't. BAIT and SWITCH

Apparently, SIXT changed the hours at this location after be booked our vehicle. I was worried since our pickup time appeared to be after the updated close time, and a Sixt customer service rep noted that we were going to come before the new close time to pick up the car. Irving (who I believe is the general manager of this location) took time to personally call me ahead of the rental and assure me that they would remain open for us to pick up at our original time. We adjusted our schedule as best we could, but we still arrived after the updated close time. Sure enough, Irving was personally there to help me (the airport and every other counter was EMPTY!). He was incredibly helpful as well - the Sixt website wasn't working properly for us, so he came out to log all the damage on the car before sending me on my way. He was also really nice and upgraded our car which I really appreciated - it's the nicest rental car I've ever driven, hands down. On top of all this, since we're dropping off at a different airport location, he personally made sure I found the right location and also mentioned the logistics and timing there to make sure we won't miss our flight. White glove service with a smile. You have a happy customer here, and I plan to give you my business again.

    We rented a car here on a Wednesday in April 2022…read more Most flights from Denver to Aspen had been canceled due to adverse weather. Eagle airpory was the best alternative we could find. When we called the Alamo national phone number to change our reservation from Aspen to Eagle, they quoted us $123 for two days, with return to Aspen.  We got to Alamo Eagle, and they had to search for the reservation. They found it, and quoted $123, plus booster seat rental.  Leaving, quoted price was over $1200, but only my wife heard the guy say that, and she thought she may have heard it wrong. We left in a nice Nissan Rogue.  While were driving away, the guy from Alamo Eagle called us back. After a couple of tries to get a good cell signal, he explained the situation.  He had been out of one-way rentals, so the one-way surcharge rang up as $1000. He adjusted it to $250, the standard one-way fee, because the phone reservation had granted the reservation.  That's not as good as waiving the one-way fee entirely, but it's certainly better than $1200. And calling us after we had left was definitely solid customer service. The car worked well. Drop-off in Aspen was no hassle, but nothing to do with this location. By the standards of car rentals in general (and in particular an incident on Kauai where we ended up in arbitration to remove unauthorized charges), this was pretty much as good as it gets. I think they earned a five star "as good as it gets".

I'm legitimately worried that someone is going to get in an accident on steep terrain out here because this company is telling drivers to ignore deadly mechanical problems. -- -- -- I rented a car from their affiliated location (Thrifty/Budget) at Denver International Airport. While driving down from the Eisenhower Tunnel and Vail Pass, the car started to malfunction; it started shuddering and wobbling while braking at high speeds. I'm an experienced mountain driver who doesn't abuse their brakes on inclines (I downshift), and this worried me, because such shaking indicates brake wear that makes the car unsafe to drive. The car also shook A LOT on small bumps, which led me to believe the vehicle's rotors had warped so badly that the car's suspension was now affected. We got to our destination and I called to see if I could get a replacement car, because this Gypsum location was the closest to us. The customer service rep was indignant and said, to my horror, that "it's normal for cars to have that problem coming down the pass." I insisted that it's not, and she gave in and said she could get us a different vehicle. When I arrived the next day to change out the car -- which was technically drivable, but felt sketchy -- the counter attendant had the same response. "It's normal for cars to shudder like that going down the pass." Then, appallingly, she tried to insist that I FILL THE CAR WITH GAS or I'd be charged the full amount ($10.99 per gallon). To say I was gobsmacked!!! I traveled more than an hour out of my way, on my vacation, in an unsafe car to return it to the location FOR THEIR CONVENIENCE, and they tried to tell me to go to Costco to refill the gas tank, wasting even more of my time. The level of entitlement and rudeness I faced from the women at this agency was honestly shocking. I've never had such a negative customer service interaction. I've lived in and around CO for the better part of 25 years, having only recently moved away. I've also maintained my own brake pads and rotors, and have also NEVER had my car shudder and wobble while braking downhill. I understand that inexperienced mountain drivers probably wear out these cars faster than they would otherwise. In that case, sucks to be Hertz, but they need to increase rental cost to make up for increased maintenance -- NOT INSIST ON CUSTOMERS KEEPING UNSAFE CARS. -- -- -- Thrifty/Dollar out of DIA is affiliated with this Hertz. I will NEVER be renting from any of these companies again. Either the corporate office is directing their field agencies to keep poorly maintained cars in circulation, or this office has gone rogue because they don't want to deal with customer complaints. Either way, someone's going to end up dead because of this "shuddering brakes are normal" narrative, and it won't be me or my family. Please also don't let it be you.
