Compared with PNC or Huntington, who are really anal about small details (like showing two forms of ID in order to open accounts) and consider the sterile, "every branch exactly the same" approach to be the most appropriate, I cannot recommend the bank enough. Additionally, their free checking is definitely accommodating (although the check writing limit is a little low) and their savings yields are competitive (which, because of the current economy, means that they are ridiculously low--lol). I would recommend this bank to all of my neighbors in Avalon.

I am a customer for over thirty years. I have always had a good banking experience with S&T Bank.

However, on my most recent visit it appears that this plaza has shifted to a more business route than a retail route. Don't get me wrong, there are still retail shops in here, but nothing like it used to be. As for this branch, it is simple. Two stalls to drive thru at, one focusing on the ATM, the other focusing on the true banking. There is a third lane, but that is just a lane to allow those ones that choose to use the ATM on the side of the building. The one that you have to get out of your vehicle for. As for me, I came here for the vehicular banking, so I drove up to the ATM. Newer ATM, allows for deposits no matter your bank. If I remember correctly, no need for envelopes. It was a quick stop, especially since that is what I was looking for.

Like most banks you can "deposit" your check remotely by taking an image of both the front and back. Their ATMs are free at all places noted by "Allpoint" whenever you are traveling. They offer free checking. I have received very good customer service each time I visit but the best thing I like is how their online banking works. Once you set it up and link your account you can add merchants from either a drop-down menu or "add your own" if you don't see one listed. You can also pay a person. When the merchant is added it will show you the number of days the amount you specify paid will be deposited in that merchant's account. The money is normally withdrawn immediately unless you schedule a future payment. The vendor will still get it in the time-frame specified. If they need to cut a bank check then the process is a little longer. The best part I like is that if the merchant fails to receive your payment by the guarantee due date and if it coincides with your payment due date then the bank will take responsibility for it after an investigation. Like most banks they offer credit cards as well as debit and their interest rate is not the greatest but that is to be expected. They now offer "Apple pay" if you are tech savvy and wish to use your IPhone with a certified vendor. They do have a "funds availability" once you deposit a check. So please don't think the entire amount is immediately available. Check with the bank on this matter. They only time funds are immediately available is when you are making a cash deposit. I've been relieved of having to worry about sending large sums of money though the mail when the occasion arises through this system.
