AWFUL experience. My mother went into this credit union simply trying to find out the payoff…read morebalance on a small car loan after my father passed away unexpectedly. She brought his official death certificate with her, yet staff still refused to provide any information. Instead, they bounced her from employee to employee for over two hours, told her she "needed an attorney," and claimed she needed to provide the BILL FROM THE FUNERAL HOME before they could even discuss the loan, as if the death certificate wasn't proof enough of his passing. Think about how absurd that is. A death certificate wasn't enough, but apparently a funeral invoice was? She was not trying to take out a loan, access an account improperly, or "pull something over" on anyone. She was trying to PAY OFF THE LOAN so she could obtain the title to the vehicle. Instead of showing even basic compassion to a grieving widow, your staff treated her like a criminal. The complete lack of empathy, professionalism, and common sense was disgusting. Watching a grieving woman be reduced to tears over something that should have been handled in minutes was unacceptable. If this is how this institution treats families dealing with the death of a loved one, people should seriously reconsider doing business here. I suggest going anywhere else.

Like most banks you can "deposit" your check remotely by taking an image of both the front and back. Their ATMs are free at all places noted by "Allpoint" whenever you are traveling. They offer free checking. I have received very good customer service each time I visit but the best thing I like is how their online banking works. Once you set it up and link your account you can add merchants from either a drop-down menu or "add your own" if you don't see one listed. You can also pay a person. When the merchant is added it will show you the number of days the amount you specify paid will be deposited in that merchant's account. The money is normally withdrawn immediately unless you schedule a future payment. The vendor will still get it in the time-frame specified. If they need to cut a bank check then the process is a little longer. The best part I like is that if the merchant fails to receive your payment by the guarantee due date and if it coincides with your payment due date then the bank will take responsibility for it after an investigation. Like most banks they offer credit cards as well as debit and their interest rate is not the greatest but that is to be expected. They now offer "Apple pay" if you are tech savvy and wish to use your IPhone with a certified vendor. They do have a "funds availability" once you deposit a check. So please don't think the entire amount is immediately available. Check with the bank on this matter. They only time funds are immediately available is when you are making a cash deposit. I've been relieved of having to worry about sending large sums of money though the mail when the occasion arises through this system.
