I've eaten my way through Paris over the last 25 years and this place rivals some of the best croissants and pastries I've ever had. The funny part is that you don't have to travel to Paris or even to Montreal because they have locations in NYC. One little surprise, the Danish's drizzle was not caramel but peanut butter flavored. Typically not a fan of peanut butter, but the drizzle was small enough not to distract from the rest of the yummy pastry. All was fantastic! Inside, there aren't tables for sitting, just a small counter to stand at, but there are a few outdoor tables right by the door. The staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the items available. They also mentioned that weekends usually bring more variety, including fruit tarts, while weekdays focus mainly on croissants. The chocolatine I tried was good--crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside, exactly what you'd expect from a quality bakery. I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had, but it was still enjoyable. If you're in the neighborhood, Automne Boulangerie is worth a visit, especially earlier in the day or on a weekend to get the full range of their croissants and tarts.
