As a native New Yorker who despises 42nd Street, I found a reason to go. I loved seeing the Odyssey…read morein premium format there. it was the best experience I had at a movie theater in a while. It was worth the cost. The theater was very clean, and the staff was nice. I went to this movie as a last-minute solo date, and it was fun. The ticket guy at the one register was awesome. It is mostly a self-service kiosk for buying tickets. I purchased an ice cream and a bottle of water. it cost $16, but hey, I am worth it. It was a solo date. The guy who scans your ticket checks bags as well. I guess for contraband. There is a warning sign about flashing lights and water. The best part of the experience is the moving chairs. I want to see the Odyssey again.

I cannot believe our seats moved during every action scene. Only downside was this couple sitting next to us who wouldn't shut the heck up. Without giving away the movie you do need to see thunderbolts (new avengers) before seeing this Spiderman. I was happy to see one of my favorite stranger things characters in the movie. I didn't feel any mist in my seat because the boring couple next to me turned theirs off. I was so happy when the lady went to the bathroom I was able to enjoy the movie more. I recommend going to a higher level to watch the movie I was in D13 & D14. Next time I will sit further in the back because there were some scenes that I saw flashing lights in my side view. Either way it was wonderful for my first time. I don't recommend getting popcorn it will fly everywhere. Haha. While the ticket prices were high its worth it in my book. Your paying for an experience. The loud banging noises were super cool. I did notice the isle seats move a lot more than the inner seats. I think this will be the only way I will watch marvel movies from now on! The seats were clean, the floors were clean. I was pretty surprised at how clean the theather was overall. Don't come tho if you are going to be a chatter box. If you have add you might get distracted by the moving seats pop an Adderall if you need too! I can't wait to go back to experience scents to certain scenes. I'm definitely seeing doomsday at this theather. But I am gonna try to sit in row H or I so I can see more visual effects. Still not bad for my first time.

So far, New Plaza Cinema is open mostly on weekends, when they offer several screenings per day of different films. The single-screen auditorium seats about 72 guests. NPC is a rebirth of the kind of place NYC used to have but lost over the years to big theatre chains and online streaming. New Plaza Cinema carefully curates its offerings, often selecting films that received acclaim at independent film festivals or offer a take on a timely social, historical, or artistic subjects. Ticket prices are $12 and can be ordered online. The only drawback to point out is that the building lacks a working elevator, so viewers must walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to the auditorium. I highly encourage cinephiles of all ages to check out the film offerings, take a chance, and help this venue grow its audience.

A cozy, local setting favored by filmgoers looking to catch independent, international, or curated special screenings while shopping or dining in the area." Well.. color me impressed! First off, I am a huge fan of Angelika Theater in SoHo. I have always had an enjoyable movie experience there. Well organized, spotless and an employee will announced now seating for particular film. Additionally, Angelika was a pioneer in serving coffee way back in the 90s. I also loved the Angelika Film magazine which had mini interviews of the artists in the films Angelika was showing. I had no idea Angelika took over Cinema 123. This, when I received my September perk from NY Magazine ( sigh, loving these perks!). There were 3 Angelika Cinemas I could redeem my BOGO movie ticket and free medium popcorn: SoHo, East Village and UES. My friend and I picked Heart of the Beast ( lol, non negotiable due to me being a huge Brad Pitt fan). HOTB was not playing in SoHo so we picked UES. The experience of redeeming free popcorn to the comfortable leather chair seating was outstanding. The medium popcorn was fresh and delicious! Our seats were great and I felt as if I was watching the film in my living room. The entire venue was spotless from front of house to theater to bathrooms. This..this.. this will bring me back to seeing films IRL. Shout out to all the Cinema 123 staff for being kind, courteous and professional. For now, see ya at the movies! Btw Heart of the Beast is fantastic, Brad brings it!

The cashier was incredibly sweet, patient, and accommodating. She even took pictures of us and asked someone else to take additional photos so we could all be in them together. She truly deserves recognition for her kindness and customer service. We were there for the May 1st The Devil Wears Prada event and had our special themed T-shirts on, which made it even more fun. The staff member also went out of her way to separate the popcorn for all three of us, which we really appreciated. We ended up with great seats and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this theater for both the atmosphere and the amazing staff!
