This review is long overdue as my family have used Dolan Funeral Home service three times now (first time was 11+ yrs ago when my grandfather passed way after, again after my uncle passed away, and most recently this summer when my cousin passed away).
Inside Dolan Funeral Home, it is updated and more modern looking, tastefully decorated without the stuffiness you may think a funeral home might be. There are different size rooms where you can have the service, the biggest room is opened & airy and can seat many people. There are flat screen TVs around the room where you can bring in your own DVD and play your slideshow of your loved one while the service is going on. Lots of tissue boxes around and they even provide a 'memory' board for friends and family to write memorable sticky notes on, which at the end they put in a folder and give to the family.
Jim (the Director) and his staff have always been most accommodating, guiding and helpful in these most difficult circumstances. They are very professional, listening to our needs and wishes of how the service should go. They are always available to answer any questions and for calls to them (even after hrs). The staff dress professionally, guide our guests to the parking spots (family get priority parking at the front), opening the entrance door for the guest, etc. They handle the coffin with dignity and respect and load all the flowers and bring them for us. For the procession from the funeral home to the cemetery or other places such as to the temple, they have cars to help guide the traffic throughout the route. It's really impressive that Jim knows about other cultural services and rituals; my family being Buddhist and having the need to incorporate Buddhist rituals into the service and at the temple, he knew the flow and the timing needs, etc. We highly recommends Dolan Funeral Home in helping making those last memories of your loved in a manner that's as least stressful as it could possibly be. read more
