We had a lovely little oat cake and latte experience at this locally owned coffee shop in downtown Sydney. It was about a fifteen minute walk from the cruise port area. The staff was really friendly and we enjoyed both our lattes and oat cakes (a Nova Scotian specialty). The space is quite cozy and kid-friendly with high chairs and changing tables in the bathrooms. I was home visiting family and wanted to find a nice cappuccino, and my dad recommended Doktor Luke's. I'm so glad he did! I enjoyed the best cappuccino I've ever had in my life. The person working there was very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable, and they clearly took a lot of pride in their product. The eat‑in area was very comfortable -- I loved the tables and chairs. Wonderful little coffee shop! Stopped by on a rainy day for coffee while in port on a cruise. This location shares space with a creperie/bakery. It was really busy with there being two cruise ships in town. The two staff working did a great job keeping up. My chai latte was fantastic and I enjoyed every sip. The drinks are of good quality and the people are reasonably nice. They didn't have many offerings to pick from, and we really struggled finding a good breakfast here or in town in general. Idk if it was just out of season or if the town isn't really built for tourism, but there weren't many options around and open to choose from. They try and frankly that level of effort is better than I've experience in bigger towns. Also I like the early industrial period aesthetic. read more

We traveled thru Sydney and chose Doktor Luke's because of the reviews of beverages and food. We arrived at 930am on a Saturday and got great beverages (an Americano & a latte) however were disappointed to know that the food 'half' of this business wasn't going to open until 10. Since we were traveling thru, that wasn't going to work. It sure would have been helpful to know this before we stopped... So, the stars are for the morning beverages! read more

Was in town for a comic convention and this coffee with a short walk away from my hotel. Sydney is very lucky to have a wonderful little shop like this, i ordered a Vanilla Latte which was good but then on behalf of my mom I requested an Iced London Fog with Soy, not something on their menu but they were so accommodating and hadn't really made it before and it turned out delicious. The staff is friendly, coffee is good and the prices are fair! Also picked up an egg sandwich at the little bakery inside the shop as well. Delicious and affordable! My favorite coffee shop in Sydney. The lattes are superb (with soy and almond milk options, yay!) and there is a good amount of seating. Missy and her team are exceptionally friendly. I usually have my baby in tow, and they are very happy to have kids in the coffee shop. The chocolate chip pumpkin bread (baked by Missy, I believe?) is heavenly. Hands down the best coffee in town, and a really great space. Everyone who works there is wonderful, and the owners are very knowledgable and also quite sweet -- they asked my name on my first visit, and have remembered my order ever since! They are very accommodating, with soy/almond/cashew milk options on hand all the time, and a wide variety of drink options.
