Hands down Dogtopia is the best doggie daycare. Everyone that works here is super friendly!! You can tell that they love the dogs!! Lexi ( my Boston Terrier) loves it here! She runs right in the door Anxiously awaiting for the team member to come out to the lobby to get her. As soon as they appear Lexi gives them lots of love and kisses!! She can't wait too see all her friends. There is so many great events throughout the month, most of the events benefit a charity or organization. Which I love. Dogtopia has a spa as well which is great while your dog is at Daycare you can schedule a spa day for your dog. They also have various dog treat days. Dogtopia even offers a Saturday Daycare special from time to time. I have not utilized this service as of yet, but Dogtopia offers boarding. I've heard great things though. Dogtopia is invested in the community as well. Dogtopia sets up a various events to showcase all they have to offer. Oh the best part is Dogtopia has cameras so you can watch your puppy/dog live on your phone or computer. Dogtopia has a great user friendly app that has everything Dogtopia has to offer in the palm of your hand. You can even schedule daycare thru there. My dog was bit by a new dog that was excused from Dogtopia. I understand stuff happens with the bite but the events that transpired afterwards are inexcusable. My dog was taken to a vet by the manager and had a laceration. The vet put him in a cone and I picked up my dog two days later (I was out of state). The Dogtopia staff removed my dog's cone without permission while they knowingly had a pink eye outbreak. My other dog was in isolation and I had no idea when I picked him up. My vet follow up said the wound was infected and gave me a new cone because the staff threw away my dog's original cone. After all this I received no discount and paid full price for having both dogs with infections. My dogs had stayed there another time and when the dogs came home and they had massive diarrhea. Have to board my dog over the holidays. Called Dogtopia and they said that they have to do a meet and greet beforehand. Thought that was a good idea and would reflect well on the business. When I had called, the receptionist told me that Saturday at 11am was available for the meet and greet, a week before the required grooming. The app/website wouldn't let me pick Saturday to book online, so I called back and she took my information over the phone then told me to show up at 11 with my dog. When I showed up, I was told they couldn't do the meet and greet without vet records, which was not said to me when booked the appointment over the phone. (Additionally, my Vet is closed on Saturday) The only help the receptionist gave was for me to come in the morning one day leading up to my flight and just go into work later. My wife was able to get vet records as I was driving home, so I went back and showed them to the receptionist with all the dandruff again, but her only response was to come back during the work week. Management needs to do a better job! No return calls or emails over account concerns. Staff sign on said specifically that had to use app to sign dog on for dog day care as the fill up. Was fine with unlimited charge when bringing dog weekly. Little did I know I would be paying even if he wasn't there. This was not advised. 5 weeks later and I call in and ask and they still don't tell me I have to cancel to stop the charges. I go in to talk to someone and was told person who signed me up is no longer there and management will call. STILL WAITING! If turn over is so high and management can't return one call how do you think they are treating our fur babies? I would not recommend! read more

Fantastic! Our rescue pup had never been in dog daytime play/care so we tried out Dogtopia Virginia Beach on our recent visit to town. We did not know if our dog would be comfortable since he is a rescue and we got him right before COVID started so our chance to do regular training and dog park time was limited. Everything about our experience here would encourage us to return every time our pup needs some fun or boarding. First, the staff are awesome. They were friendly and welcoming as we did our initial screening. They checked out our pup with people, around various dogs, and in a crate - before bringing him in to one of the three awesome playrooms. I liked that they could separate the pups by size and activity level. The room attendants were vigilant in redirecting any dogs who would start to play a little rougher. They'd crate and release pups any time they needed a little time away from the group. I was really glad to see that dogs were returned to the group pretty quickly and that all/nearly all dogs were out playing during the active time. They take a break mid-day for the pups to snooze. We loved checking in our pup on the webcam. There is a faux grassy patch that pups can use but they stress that they will see the playspace as a dog park and "there are no accidents". I saw attendants being expedient clearing any pet mess and mopping immediately afterward. I felt like the space and experience were clean and safe. I can't thank the team enough for such a warm welcome. It was great how they helped us feel comfortable for our pup's first known playplace days. We will be back! read more

As a former employee and a pet parent who has brought their dog into daycare, I do not recommend this daycare. From the employee side: Me and my coworkers were bit numerous times in my short stay, employee turnover is ridiculous people don't even last longer than a month or two, management treats the employee's as disposable and there's no incentive for them to do a good job with your fur baby. Your dog will be put in dangerous situations. Period. Dogs who have a history of starting fights are let back numerous times, and dogs who have never started a fight will get turned away with little warning. Boarding is also not worth it. Your dog will spend 70% of the dat and night in a crate. From a pet parent side: I watched my own dog almost be involved in fights a few times because other dogs initiated next to my dog. Some employees definitely care, but there's not really enough staff, so your dog spends a lot of time in the crate no matter what. They cram a lot of dogs in a space that's not very big, and there's a fan in one of the rooms that is hanging on by a thread and will fall on your dogs eventually.
