I've been taking my dog for almost two months now and have had an awesome experience. Every staff member has been great and my dog is always excited to see them. I've seen some reviews mention a urine smell. I've never found it to smell like urine. I get to watch her play on the webcam. They also have really cute photo opportunities for the dogs and I even get a pic when she gets her lick mat. read more

Terrible place. Would never bring my dog here again. They basically run a scam. If you sign up your dog for 1 week, they will enroll you in a subscription without telling you. Then they'll charge you weekly regardless of whether you're bringing your dog in. Then when you catch it and cancel they'll still charge you an additional week. Moreover the place reeks of urine. We had to bathe our dog after taking her there cause she smelled so bad. I'm sure they'll go out of business soon enough. read more

I noticed a pattern when I would pick my two dogs up that they would be crying for water. I literally had to pull off the road to give them some water. I inquired and was told there are several spots for them to get water. This annoyed me but I learned to have water on hand when I pick them up. Then I learn (from them) that the dogs are not allowed water in their boarding room. When I think about how parched they are from play and then are taken to their suite until the next morning without water, I want to cry. I will never leave my dogs there for boarding again and hope that I'm not desperate enough for daycare. When I was initially checking them out, I did not realize that I had to ask the most basic question - can my dogs have water!!! They do not answer their phone or return voice mails and it takes forever to drop off and pick up. read more

terrible service! besides filling all information in advance in their APP, 2h before the Meet & Greet they request proof of vaccination - my dog just arrived in the US - 2 weeks prior stayed in the US center control of diseases and had TONS of paper work! they just don't know how to read SERIOUS information to confirm the dog has all vaccines so they prefer to cancel my appointment - After I lost my morning of work! thank you for another frustrated customer that had to pass CDC but the documentation for them is not enough! read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Terrible interaction with the front desk. My dog used to go there regularly, when it was Haven, and he loved it. Dogtopia had me do another assessment for him. I told them that he's scared when he's in a crate, and that you cannot reach in to take him out, you just have to open the door let him walk out, which is not a big deal for him. I told the lady on the phone this, I told the receptionist, Kendra, as well. She told me they would call me in an hour, once the assessment is over to pick Andy up. She called me 20 minutes later stating they will not give him an assessment because they don't want him to bite them when they take him out of the kennel. She said the only way they would take him out to kennel, is to reach in, not let him walk out on his own. To note, Andy would never bite someone, he would be scared and shaking, but never snap or bite. I went to pick Andy up, and I told Kendra that I hoped this was a teachable moment for everyone, I did not say this aggressively, I was very calm, and just wanted to know why they let me go through this process of temperament testing when they had no intention of doing it. She just stared at me with a blank face, then I said, "you don't care, do you?" Again, she just gave me a blank look, she definitely did not care. Absolutely horrible customer service. They are a far cry from Haven, I will continue to bring my pup up to Haven East Cobb, where I know he will be loved and happy. read more

They are the absolute WORST! They are in the biz of money. They hiked the boarding price tremendously and justified it by saying, "we board now in cages and suites", when initially their boarding was suites only, which is what made them different from most "dog boardings". Well that didn't last long! The cameras don't work MOST of the time, dogs are in cages ALL day on Sundays...ridiculous. read more

Dogtopia will do anything to ban your dog. My well-mannered dachshund failed his meet and greet because he "didn't make enough eye contact". This is a dog that grew up with other dogs, has been tested socially many times, and exhibited no behavioral issues during the test. There are no (free) second chances at Dogtopia. Your dog has 1hr to become the most popular dog in the room or they're rejected. They will not try again that day. They will not give your dog extra time. This is my second such experience at this location. They are poorly managed, have an inadequate staff, and appear to have taken on more dogs than they can handle. read more

We had used a small business in Marietta and it was not sanitary for our pup Kota. We couldn't see how she was playing and they weren't communicative. Dogtopia's has gone above. From her first boarding stay; they sent a couple photos of her throughout the stay which helped keep me informed on how she was doing. We love Dogtopia! We have been using Dogtopia for the past two years for doggy daycare. The staff is always so friendly and excited to see your dog. I love that they give out report cards some days. I love that sometimes they send a picture from daycare. I love that you can see your pup on the camera! This place is terrible. The staff isn't informed at all. First none of the three people working the front desk knew that the kennel cough vaccine was the same as the bordetella vaccine. Then they failed our dog's socialization because he didn't play enough?!?! I'm sorry, what? Not because he was aggressive, but because he wasn't playful enough. That's just silly. A dog that just wants to be relax and lay in the corner shouldn't be a failure on your socialization test. Avoid this place at all cost, it is clear they know nothing about dogs. read more

I agree with every review on here about trying to fail your dog during the meet and greet. When this was the Haven, it was well run and enjoyable. Now that my dog has not been there in a year, we had to do another meet and greet. My Goldendoodle (a Goldendoodle ya'll!!!) has never exhibited any aggressive behavior. After passing 95% of their test, my older dog apparently snapped at bigger, high energy (their definition btw) dogs who got too close to her. That made her "aggressive" and unsafe. They even stated that on a different day she probably would have passed if there were not as many high energy dogs in the play center. She has gone to day care and boarding all her life and never had anything but positive feedback on her demeanor and ability to get along with others. read more

I don't know what these other people experienced, but we LOVE this place. L passed with no problem, staff has always been nice & helpful. L loves everyone there & is exhausted when spends whole day. Dog owners, be careful when boarding your pets at Dogtopia Sandy Springs. We boarded our two 1.5 year old dogs (Saint Bernard and a mix) there this weekend. On Friday, Lindsay, the manager called us to say that our dogs were being "reactive" upon entry to the play areas. They tried twice and then returned them to their individual crates. If our dogs weren't playing nicely, then I think that's appropriate. Our dogs and other dogs need to be kept safe from possible harm. We were told that the staff would try again on Saturday and that Lindsay would give us a call back. But despite my calls and texts, Dogtopia wouldn't answer. When we picked them up on Sunday, they immediately consumed 4 full bowls of water. They've never consumed a fraction of that at one time in their lives. So, what happened was that Dogtopia put our dogs in crates with little or no water, perhaps for several days. They did not try to reintroduce them to the other dogs, they did not try to give them individual attention, they did not reach out to me for an update, or respond to my requests. What they did do, was ignore my dogs and put them in a cruel and unsafe situation. And to add insult to injury, they've asked us not to return. Horrible place. read more

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT Sandy Springs, Ga. Due to work changes I was unable to utilize all of the package I purchased. Been going there a while. The attendant said I would have to lose the $60 on it and then I could purchase another package for the next month that didn't have as many visits on it. My big disappointment is the lack of transparency of visits left on the package, there isn't a record of how many visits have been used in the package on my account. This is a lot of money to lose and then have to purchase a new package. BUYER BEWARE!! read more

I have been taking my dogs to Dogtopia (previously Dog Haven South) for 3 years. I have been extremely happy with the care and attention my dogs have received. We have two dogs, a golden doodle and a German shepherd so very different breeds. They care for both of them beautifully. We can log in and see them in the play area and they are interacting calmly with other dogs in a well-supervised area. When we pick them up (from daycare or boarding), they are happy and staff is always complimentary about their stay. Highly recommend. read more
